MT Matt
My lady friend works in the ER there and was on shift but didn’t work on him. He was alert and talking before going to surgery so I’d say he was doing as good as possible. Case of bad luck being in the wrong spot at the wrong time that day. I’ll load up the IHC goodies for you when I come up this fall. We can unroll the canvases and see what we have there. Hope they are in good shape. They have been hanging 15 feet up in the air for a good number of years!

Would it be possible to measure the old binder sometime, to see if it is an 8' or a 10'? Either way, those canvas aprons would benefit someone! I've had people ask about aprons in the past. Old Binder Guy
I bump[ed into this Lehaitre tracked "motorcycle" on Facebook. I haven't seen anything like it before. I thought Tubacase47 might like seeing a Case tractor pulling a McCormick Binder. Is this IHC tractor a Mogul Junior? Anytime I bump onto mules, I think of Anson Sheldon and that Delta dirt getting plowed. Gary😉 4

MT Matt
I rode a mule last summer Gary. This picture was taken at the beginning of a trail ride. The mounts were from a dude ranch in the area. We rode 5 miles into a mountain lake. The ride in was fairly uneventful and lunch at the lake was nice. I won’t say much about the ride down but this mule didn’t want to take me back out, to put it nicely. I won, I guess, but If I never ride another hay burner that’s just fine with me. Red tractors will take me where I need to go. 🤠 Speaking of IH red, I’ve been doing a little spring maintenance. I drug the Super MTA out of the shed yesterday. Changed the oil/filter, fixed a couple hydraulic lines, brake pads, and generally checked her over for the up coming spring planting. Then for some reason the alternator quit. Had one stashed in the shop so she’s charging again. Waiting for a tie rod end to show up, one is a little loose. The Super C was the next on the list. The pto shaft was worn out. Something that has needed to be fixed since I bought it. I’m not sure how it could wear like this, maybe the coupler wasn’t pushed fully in. Luckily I bought a parts tractor a couple years ago and stashed the pto unit away. Nothing wrong with the shaft but the housing was broken so I couldn’t just throw this unit in. I had to remove the pto shaft itself. This looks much better! And somehow I was able to stab the 3’ long drive shaft back into the rear end on the first try! I fought my A for an hour once and had to remove the top cover to get it together. So now I have two IH red tractors ready to go to work on a Montana farm! Tomorrow I’ll sit down and figure out my seed order. We still have snow on the ground in the shaded areas but planting season is just around the corner! 6
hardtail
We had a horse and later bought a mule and had for years until its death, mule was branded from US forestry service and excellent pack mule BUT not that great riding, I don't claim to be any equine expert but a horse will kinda roll and forecast what's coming, this one was like a bomb, one second your enjoying the saddle and boom your on the ground with no warning

twostepn2001
A pic of the E.L. Bowman grocery store and filling station near Punkin Center in Dawson County Texas, 1940. First thing that got my attention was all the signs, mostly tobacco and soft drinks. Don't know where the ice came from but probably from a ice house in nearby Lamesa, Texas. At first l thought that old windmill was busted until l looked closer and saw it was a electric generator wind turbine. Can anybody identify those two cars? 4

Gary😁 Well, the info on the pic said it was taken in 1940, so l figure they had to be at least no older than '41 models..... 😄 Plus being prior to WWII l think it would be pretty safe to say they aren't Nissan's or Toyota's or even Volkswagen's... Maybe Campbell-Bordenmobile's...??

twostepn2001
At first l thought this was a April's Fools thing but after a little research l find that it is the real deal.....taco flavored ice cream. lf you're from Texas you know that Blue Bell lce Cream is the unofficial "official ice cream of Texas." twostepn2001
l just learned a interesting bit of information and thought l'd pass it on. Have you ever wondered why the majority of newer ag planes (spray planes or crop dusters) are yellow? l just figured it was a trademark thing of AirTractor Mfg. Sort of like red for IH and green and yeller for JD. But according to the National Agricultural Aviation Association here is the reasons for yellow. More visible to other pilots Human eyes are most sensitive to yellow Reflects sunlight to keep the pilot comfortable Good visibility during the day and at night Makes it easier to spot dents or damage Even birds can see yellow better, helping to avoid bird strikes. 5
Old Binder Guy
twostepn2001, I love learning new things, even at my age. I did NOT know about the reason Ag Spray Planes are usually yellow anymore. (did they steal that idea from the old J3 cubs I remember flying around after WWII, when so many cousins and neighbors were using their GI benefits to learn to fly?) I'm posting something I just learned on Facebook. I hope I don't get into trouble for posting this, as it's not intended to be pornographic. It's that when my grandmother was pregnant with my Mom, a part of ME was inside her too. That goes for all of you too! The fact that I'm almost 80 and just learning this blows my mind. A black Facebook friend is a retired USAF LTC Nurse Practitioner, who was the administrator of a military hospital in Germany during her tenure there. I thanked her profusely for posting this. Enjoy! Old Binder Guy
I don't know anything, except they crucified my Savior. He promised to raise from the dead in three days. He will. Stuff I've gathered from Facebook. An IHC Type A Mogul tractor. A Type B or C IHC Mogul. This photo kind of reminds me of Anson and Wrangler. RIP A type B or C IHC Mogul pulling disk plows. This IHC is likely a Type C? Roger is going to whack me between the eyes for not remembering the improvements of the Type C over the Type B. This is an early 45 Mogul IHC with a fan cooled radiator near Polson, Montana on the W. R. Housley farm. A 15-30 IHC Mogul tractor on a railroad flatcar. Another IHC is at the very right, but I'm not sure what it is. Apparently, none of these Titan road rollers exist today. I don't think many were built? A 10-20 IHC Titan with a homemade canopy is pulling a small combine with a sacking "room"! Notice how tall the stubble is. I'm sure that is because wheat was bred to be tall for binders tying good bundles. That has been bred out of modern wheat, to being much shorter, so the growth goes into the seeds rather than the straw. Some women have driven the ca. 1918 Model T Ford to where her husband parked his new IHC 10-20 Titan tractor they're checking out, apparently in 1921. A rare 12-25 Titan. I'm not positive I didn't just post this photo recently? I'm OLD and my rememberer doesn't work like it used to. A 10-20 McCormick-Deering with an unusual spoke pattern in its drive wheels is powering a threshing machine. A 15-30 McCormick-Deering is pulling a McCormick Combine and dumping grain into an International Six Speed Special Truck! A Farmall F-12 on rubber is pulling a bobsled with logs in winter. A Facebook friend's McCormick-Deering Farmall F-20 in a show parade. A W-40 McCormick-Deering tractor is pulling a one-way plow, stopped to pose for the camera. This McCormick-Deering ?"tug"? may be pulling some sort of rail cars, I'm betting in England or Ireland? Ooops, I don't know how IH Tractors on a Montana Farm slipped in here? I always thought this would be an awesome tractor to operate! An IH 1466 V-8 diesel tractor. An early 75 Holt at the homestead. A later 75 Holt pulling a cannon likely in WWI. A "shop built" tractor A Munktels gas tractor pulls a P&O (IHC) plow. A 12-25 Avery gas tractor is plowing in a field. A Case 10-20 three wheel tractor pulling a 3-bottom plow. I had one purportedly "bought" when a boy, for $25. When Dad and I went back after it, he said he'd sold it for scrap. It did have a connecting rod through the side of the block. A Case cross motor tractor is pulling a little combine. I wonder if anyone (Tubacase47?) can tell us anything about either piece? A WC Allis Chalmers tractor on steel wheels pulls what might be a "German band" in a parade. And, last but not least is this unique butter press or mould built in 1840-1850.
