I wish I could have met your father. Your dad was such a fount of knowledge and the humblest person. I am so pleased to see his Bourke Motor & Implement Co. calendar has a prominent place in his memorial display! 7 Quote

Selfless fellow always glad to help someone out. He sent me a trigger valve for a steam whistle I have and apologized to me because it didn't have a handle. He would not accept payment for it. A few years later I had a spare muffler sitting that would fit the "A" he was tinkering with. His kindness was returned with kindness. I'm sure I wasn't the only instance of this happening with Gary. I sure miss polka dot caps, watermelon mysteries, and the occasional wisdom from "Wrangler" also. 7 Quote

twostepn2001 Posted April 25 Posted April 25 l miss Gary quite a bit still. Loved reading about the great "Missing Mississippi Melon Caper" and the debate over stripedy hats vs. pokey dotted ones. But l also miss some of the other "old timers" like Anson, John A. and Harold H. We would have long posts about cotton farming and differences in different regions of the country. 8 Quote
TroyDairy Posted June 7 Posted June 7 My daughter's graduation party we hosted at the Tractor show grounds. Nice open sided pavillion thing. Cheap, dry, shade, perfect.  I went for a walk when i was tired of people to the old shed were the steam is stored  i Know 1 family owns many of these and the OilPulls. Dont know anything but seen them and thought Gary would love these. I invited him out a few times to see the Aug show. But he always said he needed to be home for his Wife. Good man... 9 Quote
