pt756 Posted January 22 Posted January 22 While we here in central wis are going to be really cold, weather was showing a huge winter storm across the whole country, lots of ice, anybody being affected? Quote
cobfly Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Not me, beautiful sunny day with no weather in sight. Very concerning. Quote
yellowrosefarm Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Calling for 12-20" of snow and mixed precip with temps as low as -4 Sat and Sun. It will cripple this region if that happens. I will be at work fixing snow equipment while my wife and cows are home alone. Not happy about that at all, or what it might be like trying to get home early in the week. 1 Quote
John Rowehl Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Weather app on my phone says 19-26” here in the Susquehanna Valley. Accuweather forecast this morning said 75% chance of getting 6-10” and 5% of any more. Update: Accuweather now forecasting 39% chance of 6-10” and 37% chance of 10-15”. Weather app down to 18-21”. I guess by the time it comes they’ll be the same😉. Quote
junkandcattle Posted January 22 Posted January 22 They have constantly called for sub zero wind chill. Snow forecast is all over the place. 1 13 Quote

cobfly Posted January 22 Posted January 22 We need a big, ignorant storm west of the divide. For us it's just an occurrence. So far, no occurrence this winter. 2 Quote

cobfly Posted January 22 Posted January 22 It's Saturday unless it's snowy and cold, then it's snowy and cold. I tend to get my weather from the nws. That's where everyone else gets their information from. 2 Quote
ChrisNY Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Going to get cold, -40 to-50 windchills Friday and Saturday with some general snow on Sunday into Monday 18-24" but that is just another day. We had 40" of Lake Effect Monday and been getting 6" or so with some 40mph winds the rest of this week. Calling for another 20-24" of Lake Effect tomorrow. Saturday is supposed to be ok but never getting above 0 for a high. Currently out the window.. Quote
Mudfly Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Our forecast per NOAA. These are air temps. Wind chill will be close to -50 or possibly colder. Only surprise is the flurries. Usually not a lot of precip at -20F. 1 Quote

hippy5488 Posted January 22 Posted January 22 starting tonight lows -10 highs 4 for 3 or 4 days. just got done putting bales on top of half eaten bales in rings and took out 10 stalk bales. hopefully only have to run tractors the last day of really cold weather. still have to feed corn every night but with a ranger that has heat its not to bad. worst part will be feeding the cowboy heater wood to keep water tank thawed out. nothing we all havent dealt with before 1 Quote
drglinski Posted January 22 Posted January 22 It's just single digits with minus zero wind chills here....the snow we get is moved around by the persist strong winds....typical January in MI. The trusty M busted up and pushed back the drifts today. 1 Quote
Lars (midessa) Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Cold will be arriving here late Friday, Saturday high prediction is 30, then overnight low of 11, Sunday high prediction of 24, then overnight of 11, high Monday 38. There is rain/sleet/snow forecasted. With these temps, the house furnace will run non-stop once it kicks on Friday nite until sometime Monday. Quote

We went in February one time and I couldn't believe the amount of snow from lake effect. Far worse than here. Keep your heat stoked up and the plow ready for a workout! Quote
jass1660 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Laid up with weight restrictions on lifting so snow removal is up to the wife for the next month… 1 Quote

Wes806 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Weather channel is saying Saturday temp 10 during day 7 at night Sunday 15 5 at night. Saturday night 1 to 3 inch's of snow. Sunday during the day 5 to 8 inch's of snow, I'm thinking maybe around maybe 10 inch's total??????? Take whatever it is and deal with it. Y'all be careful and safe out there during this all. Quote
