kcollinsnz Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Hey guys I have a international 674 that I use in my sawmill yard. It's old but handy. When theres **** all fuel in the tank it starts blowing blue smoke some wicked and as soon as u fill it up it goes away. But this time when I topped it up it wouldnt start and I notice that a cover on the fuel pump had come loose and the seal was popping out. So I replaced the seal. And went back to work. Then today it started smoking like it's low on fuel again but it's full. I can turn it off and on again and the problem goes away for a while and then it does it again. I'm in New Zealand and the local injector specialist said it could cost $2000 to rebuild. I'm hoping that you guys and you wisdom can help me get this sorted. Thanks in advanceĀ Quote
35desoto Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Mate here in NZ that's an average price for an injector pump reseal etc. I have some small 4 cly Kubota engines in use and at approx 8000 hrs we're spending that to keep the engine going. Overall it's not dear but there is a time delay and it needs to be removed. However I'm probably talking to the converted. 74 series doesn't have a separate external lift pump so they do have issues when the tank is low. My 585 is the same design but I haven't had the blue smoke issue Quote
