I think he was just going to do it anyway but ended up having a family emergency or something that didn't work to bring any tractors then.

If this has been Bloomsburg I'd have liked to know as I would have lobbied at the club meeting to allow the IH designed Magnum to display with its older sisters the 5X88 series

It was not Bloomsburg. It was on out west. 

I'd have no problem seeing Magnums at roundup.

I agree completely. It was 90+ percent IH engineering to make them "case" in point (pun intended) @DirtBoyz07 5388 and the 1066/Magnum that @CIHTECH knows of (or built)

In regard to why the number of units sold in that series was low, I question how many people in 1981, when the series came out, or even into 1984 for that matter, anticipated a merger between IH and Case or the demise of IH in any form.

Thank you to all who posted pictures!   We decided to skip this year and check out the HCOP this year.   It’s neat to see the pics but you miss out on the BS sessions.

I've learned recently that I'm not being able to attend a Roundup it's not so much the tractors I miss (those are great) but the friends and acquaintances I've made over the years.

 

Anyone know if they did a forum meet up photo(s)?

Could also be cost.  I know Chapter 11 was looking at a real nice site for 27 but ended up scratching it due to how much the facility requires for cost.

From what I was told from a Mn chapter member was that the fairgrounds in Fargo was way to expensive and that they had to many stipulations you had to follow while putting the show on. It was then brought up about the Thief River fairgrounds due to the area connection with Steiger and that is the route they took.

Having roundup that far north will keep a lot of people from going and allow a lot who don't normally make the trip to be there. I wish them the best in that venture.  Too far for this guy.

Hello all. I was able to attend friday with my family and had a wonderful experience. Our first rpru. Let me say i was so impressed. Honestly it was like stepping back in time. Everyone was friendly and no BS for lack of better term. What a breath of fresh air for someone who doesnt always care for some of today's community events if you will. I kept a low key mainly because we decided to go thursday night. I was only disappointed i didnt see a 756. Had i known i could have arranged that to happen. Thank you to everyone who was involved. Again we enjoyed it.

well heck you should of said something I was there late friday and sat morn we could have chewed the fat or at least shook hands probably passed each other or stood right beside each other and didnt even know it i only live 45 mins to sedalia so it was a quick trip over for me

Son, oldest daughter and myself made it.  It was a good show.  My son and I had to get our picture taken in front of the Alma sign.  We play this map on FarmSim.  I need to bring my 1086 as the 86 series just isn't represented.  Maybe I will bring it to Michigan in 2027.

nice, i think i saw some 86 but they were 6 and 7 editions maybe an 8 w/out a cab cant remember i only saw 2 706 one with a 282 the other a gasser no krauts

I have always loved the people at Red Powet Roundups.   Everyone is so nice and will do anything for ya.   I've been treated like an old friend from many people I've just met when I've gone to them.  Really is a breath of fresh air.
