That is a GMC 702 which is essentially two V-6's built into a V-12.  Here is some info that explains it from a post from a previous show.  

The 702's were also used in trucks.

That's fair.  Let in the red steigers but not this green one.   If it wasn't for the case company (tennnaco) IH wouldn't have lasted as Case IH.  But why not let in case tractors?    Where does it stop?

Steiger built IH 4wds.

IH also owned an interest in Steiger.

so should we kick out all of the bastardized ih equipment that didnt have ih engines in them and just say no to krauts 

should we kick out all farmalls cause they dont have an IH emblem on them and oh lord dont say it but some had bloody brit engines in them

If it is an IH show, I don’t think Case Tractors should be allowed. IH never had any interest in the Case company. IH put a ton of money into Steiger Tractor Inc. They did eventually have to sell their share to KHD, and then the two companies were later merged together under Case IH, but I don’t think that changes the fact that IH and Steiger Tractor at one time were both working together. When IH owned part of the company, I believe they also got to pick some of the members on the board. I just think it’s different because IH actually owned part of that company. When they invested heavily in Steiger, Steiger needed that money. I think it’s fair to say that IH helped shape that company. Steiger four-wheel-drive Tractor building experience was good for IH and the IH dealer network was good for Steiger. As time goes on, I do think that Case IH will have to be included in these shows. It won’t be long before Magnum tractors are collectible and the market for 66 and 86 series tractors will be on the downturn.

I noticed a Magnum was there this time as well.    I knew of a guy a couple shows ago that was going to bring a couple loads to roundup and bring along his Magnum but the people in charge of that show did not want the Magnum there. I think he was just going to do it anyway but ended up having a family emergency or something that didn't work to bring any tractors then.

I don't know enough about steiger without looking it up, but when that 2200 was built did IH have any money in them? I was thinking that's a really early Steiger. Maybe not one still built in the barn but close? 

I think they are really cool tractors and enjoy seeing them but I'm not sure where to draw the line.

At first I thought maybe it was a really early 7100 Magnum in this show but looked at it briefly longer and it's either a 7150 that was a late addition to the party or it has replacement side panels and it has the later decals.

We all know what IH had and brought to the Magnum but if the date is pushed to 1987 when they came out, or 1998 when they ended, that seems like it would open it up to a lot of Case tractor lineage too.

But pretty much every year the show is too far away and timed wrong for me to make it so someone else can decide what comes and doesn't and I'll enjoy looking at the pictures.

If MN wins the bid for the 2028 red power show, you really won’t like the pictures from that! Steiger family lives in the northwestern part of MN, and I’d imagine if the show is intended to be in NW MN, red power will be full of green, so buckle up!

I have only been to two RPRU shows, but this one had plenty of area that they could have easily had the entire history of IH, with all their different rabbit trails, mixes and mergers.

I can't wait to see allis 440s and ford fw-30s there.    Heck why limit it to red stuff?  Open the doors!  I can't wait till the day I hear a two cylinder deere at a RPRU!!

I have seen case tractors outside on trailers at multiple RPRUs that haven't been let in.  I like that the show is exclusively IH.   Call me a stick in the mud but it used to stand for something.  Every year we stray further from that.

No, IH didn’t have any money in them when that was built. It would be considered a “Barn Series” from the 60’s. It’s a rare tractor. I have never personally seen one. The Cat names started when they moved to a factory because of the Melroe family.

The point of that Green Steiger being there was the heritage of it and how it came to be the Red Steiger machines. There is a new book out about Steiger heritage which intertwined with IH 4x4 tractors at one point. That book was being sold also. I'm sure someone on the committee invited that machine to be there. I just can't see why on earth anyone would get so butt hurt about and take a positive thread and just continually make negative comments about it. It's ridiculous.

In 30 years anyone that was alive for pure IH will likely be dead, more of us pass every year.

That’s the nature of the beast with him. It seems like 9 times out of 10 if he comments on a post it is either nitpicking something or it’s negative about the post.

I was going to say something similar. 

I turned 41 last week. I was in diapers when the merger happened and have no actual memories of IH being stand alone at that point. Was around the equipment on the farm, but go to the dealer. It was Case IH.

You are right. Steiger Heritage actually was the ones pushing to get the Red Power in Northern Minnesota. They were trying for Fargo but that didn’t work out so now it will be in Thief River. From what I was told there will be a good display of Stiegers at Huron next year also.

So you must not like when someone takes an old Farmall and puts a completely different engine in it either? I’m mean it’s not an IH through and through at that point.  What about the M&W add ons, are they allowed? I’d be fine with first generation Magnums at red power, they are 80-90% IH anyway

Probably the only fairgrounds that was willing to help out? I don’t know how, or what they look for when finding a host site?! 
I live in MN, and that’s a 4.5-5 hour commute for me!
