Every generation repeats most of those comments with different amounts.

That's the year I learned what a shovel was for - filling up a cup.

My grandpa owned the school buses at that time.

That looks like a very nice Bel Air

A car I always wanted but never got.

Dad had a '58 (think of Ronnie Howard's car in American Graffiti) when I was too young to tell him to save it for me for when I turn 14😪

My tastes have changed and now if I had the money I would shop around for a '55 or '49

And don't go finding me one like you did with the mower deck, still recovering from that trip into the heart of where all the people live😬  😄

When we bought the place across from us the executors of the estate left us some documents including their parent's mortgage.   In about 1967 they bought the place for $10000 i think it was.  They borrowed $6000 and paid the place off in 5 years.  Many people can't pay a car off in 5 years now.

1957 IH A-160. Great-grandpa bought it new that year. Used it on the farm till they moved to town in 1980.

Did all IH trucks leave the factory as cab and chassis only? Then the customer or dealer could put whatever on the chassis.

No bodies installed at the factory except for pickups.

Some bodies were installed at the Sales Processing Centers located near the factories but not in large numbers.
