Never Sieze vs. caulk

It depends how you work. I can work on a steam engine for a full day and not get any grease or grime on me, but if you ask some guys to hand you the grease gun, they will look like they just climbed out of a tar pit.

I use caulk almost daily, i can use acrylic water based all day without mess, the minute i pick up Lexel or silicone it is all over. As for never seize, i am usually filthy enough that I don’t care. But the grip of my impact is usually silver colored from it.

Hint: get a good spray bottle and fill it with alcohol (rubbing or denatured, doesn't matter).  And have a roll of paper towels handy too.

It cuts the silicone, but dries fast enough without leaving a residue, unlike soapy water or mineral spirits.

Here's a really good spray bottle that will last.  I buy the cleaner just for the bottle, and put the original contents in another container to use later.  Much better than any empty bottle that I've ever bought.   The tube's built in to the bottle.  The regular generic spray bottles are crap.

Actually, vodka probably would work.  I know that shine would.

An interesting observation I've made over the years is that anything that I take apart that has Locktite on it, well, comes apart! The Locktite protects the threads from rust so it is sort of a double fix. It keeps things from loosening but lets them get loose when wanted.

Yes, I've looked like the tin man more than once.

I have used both on the same fastener. I can show you a fine thread half inch set screw  with a jam nut on top of it that has anti-seize on the threads and then one of the flats of the nut marked with caulk so that I can look down at it at a glance and tell if it has moved.
Blue Loctite would probably be the better way to go, like New Englander mentioned, but I’m paranoid so I would still want to check it and see if it was tight, which would disturb the lock tight, so I have to mark it with caulk. Actually rtv

Torque seal. Used all over aircraft to indicate both that the fastener or hose fitting has been properly torqued and that is hasn't loosened.

i always wondered what that was.  I have seen it used on other things for the same purpose as well.

Intranasal is the most effective way to ingest it in that form.
