The Axial Flow 1440 from 1977 must surely be among the first machines marketed.
I love these machines.
Thank you very much for this beautiful photo 😍529289609.gif974250.gif
It would be interesting to open a topic dedicated to these revolutionary machines with of course anecdotes from sellers, factory employees or users from all over the world.
Whether from the first machines to the latest; and why not on the new products to be released such as for example the new 160 series machines; 260 or the new big machine of which we are starting to see some photos.

There is a topic about and the history of the axial flow combines in the IH technical section.

I saw it ; but you can put photos on recent machines; old ones or on future prototypes?

I remember when dad had a Gleaner F and he upgraded to the 1440, what a difference! After that, we ran a 1644 on our acreage.  And starting this fall we will run a lower hour 2344 that I purchased this summer. Hard to beat the axial flow.

Thank you for your comment
In Europe ; at least in France the small 1644 models; 2144 and 2344 were never released.
I have American documentation on these little machines.

Another video in which we see an unnumbered model and another with the drain screw which leaves from the bottom of the hopper.

I upgraded last year from this 1460 to this 2144, which also happens to be the 1st 2144 made.  It's in the shop getting around $10,000 in work done to it.  I'll be running my own soybeans for the 1st time since 2019, this year.

My 1984 1460 getting ready for its 38th harvest. Best combines ever built and will still hold its own today.

Yours?

Yep.  The 2366 will be joining the 1440 in retirement mode as I am waiting anxiously for my new to me 7230.  First combine change since 2001!

When I was 8 years old dad traded his f gleaner my grandfather bought new for a 815 diesel low profile. He had a 5000 versatile gas combine also he traded that for a 1978 1460 in 1981.  They were a couple of big machines for the time.

Here's a pic of the shadow of my 1460 rice special. You can make it out pretty good if you look close.

So you bought a 7230 and still have the 2366 and 1440?  I’m jealous of the amount of shed space you must have to keep this all under roof. 😀
