gh-in-oh
Anyone have this in their yard? I believe it is in the mint family. I am not one to get to excited about a yard, but this stuff is really taking over. Roundup will kill it, but it gets grass too (as you know). 2-4-d will not touch it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Among others?) and it's variants will kill Charlie, bit there is residual..so don't use the clippings around any sensitive plants or garden type plants. I have a large patch but some of it is uphill from my garden and I'm not crazy about any runoff getting into my food supply....
Drysleeves
Dicamba product in the fall when it's backfeeding the root for winter. Gets the dandelions too.....
Thomas848
This is said to be about the best cocktail for the stuff Hope it is of value.
Thomas848
Just now, Thomas848 said: This is said to be about the best cocktail for the stuff Hope it is of value. The most effective broadleaf herbicide for creeping Charlie contains triclopyr, generally in combination with 2, 4-D, and Dicamba. Standard herbicides without these components won't work as well. Something got lost :{
DT Fan
I've killed it with 2-4-D, apparently I mix it plenty strong. Grazon worked the best of anything I've tried.
Drysleeves
I used a product called Rifle-D, intended as a soybean spring burndown for no-till. It has 2,4-D and dicamba blended.
560Dennis
Scott’s Spring and fall weed and feed works pretty good for me for 2 seasons but it will come back eventually
WESnIL
Trimec or Triplet SF at about 1.5 ounces per gallon. Make sure that the plants are not under stress from drought, etc. when you apply.
yellowrosefarm
Crossbow will knock it down and you'll be so proud of yourself for getting rid of it................until the next year when you'll be right back at it. I've been fighting it for 30 years here.
brahamfireman
Tordon will smoke it, but you've got to be super careful around the trees. Only thing is it's restricted use. Fall application works awesome, this reminds me I better get busy spraying yards this week.
vtfireman85
I had to look it up, that chit is everywhere at my grandmothers house, only thing that seems to choke it out is myrtle, which is everywhere else. My parents, across the street has none whatsoever.
Rainman
Multiple applications spaced apart with a combination mix with dicamba. Will be an on going battle to keep under control....
augercreek
If what you use does not kill the roots you're wasting your time!
IH Forever
As others have mentioned 2 4-d and Dicamba sprayed in the fall work good. Later in the fall when it's starting to get cool at night is when you have the best results. If you have it really think I would do 2 applications, spray once and then hit it again in a week. Both Crossbow and Grazon do a good job too.
Diesel Doctor
I got a very good kill, after the first hard frost, with Roundup for Lawns. Surprised me!
Drysleeves
Whatever growth regulator you use, use it in the fall or you won't be successful. Last year I waited until after a frost when the plant is assuredly feeding the root and had the best results ever.

Mountain Heritage
Par III here in Canada, smokes a lot of the weeds and leaves grass behind. Do agree, it stinks when cut and takes over. Nasty ass weed.
