Pete1468
I live the power and it was set very easy, just having pains figuring everything out. I had a antifreeze leak and a hyd hose problem after 6 acres last night. Fixed those and ran 15 acres tonight and the sickle belt broke. Someday I'll have the auto steer figured out. Farmall1066
Getting the bugs worked out is all. Seems like once a year we have to replace a seal or 2 on the male hydraulic nipples on the single point hook up, just part of the game I guess?! IHhogfarmer
Wheat harvest this year was notorious for mechanical issues for not only us but others I’ve talked too. Just happens every once in a while I guess from my observations. Best of luck with your machine during harvest.

Pete1468
Holy cow does this pig like fuel. Tough pulling stems and a lot of leaves that are dead. I did see the monitor show 27 gallon per hour fuel consumption when it was at 106% power. My 2388 would run 1 - 1,1/2 an acre. At 80 % load I think I'm burning 18 gallon an hour with 10-12 acres an hour.

First class 9 combine in the neighborhood and so far the only one. In there hard going on a long day he has to refuel around 5 to 6:00 which leads me to believe they have an awfully small tank for its size
Pete1468
It's a little over a 200 gallon tank.

Only reason I bring it up is because my cousins help said neighbor cut every year. They started with JD 9770s and those have a 250 gallon tank. They could cut all day and have 1/4 tank fuel left but couldn’t figure out why 9120 had to be refueled with 3-4 hrs left in the day
dale560
Our 2588 burned almost 2 gals an acre on good yielding wheat. Maybe 6 or 7 acres an hour max in wheat. Even our 8820 this year is using about 1.3 gals an acre. 2188 used to be about the same 1.3 gals an acre. Our neighbors were custom combiners for years they have had every case ih since the 1688s when the got their 9240s after trading 8 size in he told me they were almost 4 gals an acre for fuel but they had plenty of power.
