KWRB
I see more socialization and screwing off on the fireground (or at drill, or during business meetings) than I recall in the high school cafeteria.

I could go on for hours about this group, but let’s just say they are over managed, over funded and they manage to clog up every scene they have.

FoxrunFarms02
I totally respect police officers, fire fighters, paramedics and what they do, but there's always a small group that give them all a bad name. In my area it seems like a lot of guys join in the force for the personal license plates, free beer at the bar, and something to brag about. When they get paged it's " I'm busy" Kind of a sad but funny story. 2 years ago a 16 year old drove through my coned off workzone, ran me over and dragged me while I was unchaining a skidloader off a trailer. I remember a group of fire fighters and paramedics around me but a younger girl all decked out in full gear , suit, oxygen tank, helment, ect kept trying butt in and assist in the situation. Finally one guy said she was too inexperienced for this type of situation and go find a fire since she was suited up. I laughed so hard but it also hurt really bad. When I was placed in the ambulance my boss arrived on the scene. That fire fighter went up to him and said I was banged up but I'm fine. Well my boss calls my wife and tells her I was involved in a situation but I'm fine.........she was super confused when 2 minutes later the local hospital calls and tells her I'm getting flown to a stage 1 trauma center. I think that girl needed a bit more training of what " fine" is and she was all gun hoe to be involved or say something to feel special she gave inaccurate information.
brahamfireman
Why are they spraying water on solar panels? Where is the smoke? When pumping through an arial like that,I see no reason for pump operator to be at his station constantly. With that said, our engineers rarely stray from the engine control panel by more than a few feet and only to assist a tender if needed to drop water, or help with a ladder. I feel there's more to this picture than is bring told.

I feel there's more to this picture than is bring told. You would be as confused as we were. It used to be a gravel pit and the building was apparently unoccupied and had no electricity connected. Immediate suspicion was vandalism, a spur of 3ph comes either side of the building and is fed into by the solar farm. what should have happened, in out opinion is the first truck in should have overshot the involved building and set up a deck gun on it, second in should have done likewise, third in should have set up to pump out of the creek and feed the other 2 engines. Non-hand lines needed and minimal mutual aid needed. what happened was the first engine in stopped 200’ short of the building, turned across the road, blocking it, pulling hand lines from way away and they called up every department around asked them to come in and bottle necked the whole scene then he decided he needed a ladder from 3 towns away, which meant disconnecting everything moving all the backed up trucks to have the ladder spray water into the already extinguished remains of the roof inside the cement building in the middle of nothing. The ladder arrived about 1.5 hours after the first tone went out.
