Cake for All
Hello, I acquired it about 6 years ago for my 1940 T-6 but quickly found out that it would not mount to it as the mount plate was not for a T-6. I've not found anyone interested in it locally. I don't have a data plate for this and I'm trying to find out information on this winch system. I have an adapter plate P/N: 2A10866 I have a winch with P/Ns: 2A10370 and 2A10367 stamped on it I also have control arm side mount assembly and PTO extension/adapter Any information on this type and model would be greatly appreciated. UPDATE: A source provided input and is confirmed to be a CARCO MODEL "E" winch.
Cake for All
I was about to have it scrapped but decided to make an inquiry on what type of winch this was. Was able to get it confirmed that this is a Model E Carco. Any suggestions on where (website) to post this item up for sale; besides craigslist and ebay? UPDATE: Is this worth keeping or just scrap it?

Unable to provide a S/N. Who or What is Paccar? Your A through G statements. Are these inquiries or usual responses I'll get when posting something like this for sale? I'm not understanding your post overall.

It is primarily a truck manufacturer, and is the parent company of Kenworth and Peterbilt. So if there were to be any manufacturer support or information (which from his post it sounds like there was a little bit available in the not too distant past), that's who it would be through. Ah, thanks. That provided context needed to understand the response. I should have asked a better question: Is this worth keeping or send it out for scrap? mmi
worth keeping until 2 days after you toss it,when the need will show up someone can us it and or may have the mounts"they" need patience, the old timers kept stuff until it turned to dust. hardtail
I would definitely keep it, you might call John Parks at General Gear, I don't believe he currently has one and might be interested or be able to forward info on individuals that have contacted him for one. I've reached out to General Gear. Only response was: If there is rust inside: Scrap it. If there is no rust inside; then, it really depends on the rest of the condition of it. (That was the summary of the conversation of it.) General Gear did not seem greatly interested in it either. Overall, there doesn't seem to be a great demand or interest in this equipment; so, I'm getting rid of it. Thanks all for your feedback and input on the topic.

Unless they're in the same town as you, the cost to ship it far exceeds its value. If you could bring it to them they'd gladly take it and might even give you a few bucks for it, but I'd expect you're nowhere near Boise, Idaho (which is the General Gear that I found). About the only people interested in something like that will be the "steam show" guys. Even though they're up to their eyeballs in "donations" of old equipment and parts, you might look for an engine club or steam show near you and give it to them. Oh, this is something I've not considered. I'll see if there is anything like this near me.
