hillman
I promoted this show pretty hard but I should mention 2 others that I like and theres others I haven't been to. I don't go to a lot of shows. never have time. Bruce County Heritage Farm is the number 1 imho. Dennis asked about show attendance. Blyth was good and it wasn't a very nice weekend. My buddy went to Paisley ( Bruce County) and said there was a traffic jam going in and coming out https://bruceheritage.com/

td9bcf180
Hey- no problem, hillman. It's certainly an old style handset carriage maybe 1920's or earlier. Lots of manufacturers in those days. Waterous might have been one of them (Kitchener?) Great pics. Ole Dan the Mack looks like quite a brute. The 2018 Bruce County video is neat and I see a couple of dozers that appear to be a TD9 or 6 and maybe a TD14??? Hard to tell.
hillman
Waterous was a Brantford company . about 150 years, They were bought by Koehring in the 50s and became Koehring- Waterous, eventually they were bought by Timberjack( if my memory is correct) which was bought by John Deere in the 90s and closed down after a few years under their control and moved to the US. The Koehring-Waterous factory was torn down in the late 90s and a shopping plaza was built on that site. It was across the street from the original Massey Harris plant( later North American Parts ) ,close to Massey's foundary and Cockshutt/White plant It wouldn't be fair for me not to mention Steam Era, Milton Ontario as another good show. The clubs and volunteers deserve as much help as possible

According to the owner, that E27N saw it's last show, due to too many issues with the engine & will be building up a MH 333 to run on the gassifier. Here's the post the tractor was in: https://www.yesterdaystractors.com/cgi-bin/viewit.cgi?bd=ttales&th=630989 It's in the Tractor Tales board & once it gets to the end of page 10, it goes out the spreader. I did manage to save the page in the Wayback Machine, so it should turn up for future reference here: https://web.archive.org/web/20230000000000*/https://www.yesterdaystractors.com/cgi-bin/viewit.cgi?bd=ttales&th=630989 Mike

Mike Hand wrote several excellent books on the industry of Ontario, at one time Brantford was the 3rd largest manufacturing center of Canada - Toronto and Montreal were larger of course. These images are out of the book he wrote strictly on Waterous and I was correct Timberjack purchased Koehring Waterous only a few years before Deere bought Timberjack. Koehring Waterous had a service department that rebuilt hydrostatic transmissions as a point of interest. The images of the Waterous plant are still clear in my mind
