CIHTECH
We've been without landline for last (2) days. First time in weeks I got to work in the shop!!! Crazy some people can call in while his neighbor can't. Verizon tells me they're working on a solution. Cell phones spotty on working too. Thing I like about using the radio is all fire and ems get a heads up before dispatch puts the page out. Sometimes minutes count
Littlefeller
I heard on the radio this morning Custer county is back up and running, dont know for sure for me. Dad was a deputy sheriff until he retired, so I just use the local number, even though I know a few of the region dispatchers personally
Lazy WP
Not real handy if you’re traveling through the area. A few months back, someone cut the fiber optic cable down by Oxford, and they didn’t have 911 either.

Diesel Doctor
Enhanced 911 is one of those white elephants that they just keep pumping money into. Ma Bell started this by putting an article in AARP magazine back in the early 80's. They promised old people they would be saved if all they could do is dial 911. Ma Bell upped the price of the original 911 in favor of the new, and cheaper, E911. That started the trend and dispatch now has tons of high priced equipment that is very rarely used. And law enforcement has to go to a persons place to check on their well being if they butt dialed 911 and won't answer their phone back. I went to a lot of death calls and I never found someone deceased with a phone in their hand. Bring back just the basic 911 that always seemed to work.
