I'm not looking for sympathy here, but I thought I'd let people know my father lost his life last Thursday.   Some may know him- he was an IH agricultural technician in the Blissfield and Adrian MI area for the better part of 40ish years, starting at Kohlmans International and later Dan's Farm Supply.

He was the most selfless person I know.

Thank you

Here's one from one of his co workers:

when I first started at Dans sometimes when I’d come in off road. Rich would be in my office using the phone. Most techs did. One day after he was there I picked up my phone and the handle was all greasy! When I saw him I gave him crap about it. Week goes by I pull in and I can see him standing in my office on the phone. As I walk in he’s heading back to shop with that I did something bad grin of his. Little later phone rings and as it hits my ear I hear it make suction- he put a bead of black grease all the way around the ear end. Lol

My sincere condolences to your entire family upon the sudden loss of your Dad. He was a good man.

We attended Whiteford High School together at the same time, even though he was a couple grades ahead of me due to our ages.

I worked with him at Kohlman’s International Sales and Service, the IH dealer in Blissfield, MI in 1976. Good times.

When I was farming in SE MI, and I needed to go get parts at Dan’s Farm Supply in Adrian, I would always be sure to go back in to the shop there to say a hello to your Dad.

I will be unable to attend your Dad’s service due to me living in Texas now. My younger brother in Jackson, MI is expecting to come to pay respects. He graduated Whiteford together with your uncle, as classmates.

Again, I am so sorry to learn of your Dad’s passing.

Thanks for sharing the memories.  Those that are coming in from those that knew him are comforting.  Hope you are doing well in Texas.

So sorry at the passing of your father.  We are seldom prepared for their departure.   He sounded like a great guy that most of us could relate to.  Most of us will likely never know half of what he did....
