Recommended Posts

Im thinking the seals on the injection pump are leaking....from sitting for three years still runs and starts good can the seals be changed at home or do i need a shop to do it? Just had the return line off and no crud.... just making oil about a quart in 8 hours...

I should note ive only worked hard for a hour or so since a fresh inframe

Could it be going past the rings?

The seals them selves are easy to change. Condition of bushing in pump is important.  With out tool or previous experience. Getting first seal in without rolling can be a challenge but it is not that hard to master.

Like @snoshoe said , just be sure the lip on the first enters the bushing without rolling -- you can use a dull oring pick , the rear side will be the challenge

Got it order 2 seal kits.

Hard to say. How much are the seals without the tool? To me it would be a two to five dollar tool. Still would use it if it was there.

10 dollars for the seals ordered 2 sets and a no tool

Done wasnt that bad. Worst part was not timing the pump correctly, twice

Tomorrow ill know if ive fixed the making oil issue the old seals seamed soft...like not enough pressure to hold out.

Gotta fix the flat front tire now... if it aint one thing its another.
