Ratchet

Wow. He should be hit with it as punishment. Maybe not over the head but a few guys swing for his knees. I’m too forgiving but he needs to learn a lesson.

Looks like he welds as good as he reasons……

I am truly sorry for your loss. I would not have behaved very well upon finding that work of “genius “ when I returned from a vacation.

X2

I'd try to rehabilitate it by removing the weld and getting new guts to install from Wright if possible. Lightly sandblast where you grind the surface flat and machine the guts away? I wouldn't toss it away until trying to do something like that.

Sucks no matter what the outcome is at this point

x3  I would have lost it if someone did that to a tool of mine. What was he trying to do-remove a left hand thread lug nut?

And the man is still alive?

Its one thing to butcher up a cheap ratchet. ( I wouldn't personaly but its a little bit more resonable)

But this is like someone borrowing your classic car and using it in a demo derby, then doing a butcher job fixing it.

His welding (unfortunately) was stronger than the ratchet anvil.

Hopefully you can rehabilitate it with some new parts and a little time with a grinder. Then go to Harbor Freight and buy a cheap 3/4” breaker bar for the helpers.

Wright Tools still has rebuild kits available that probably will fit your ratchet.

Don't know as I would try to rehabilitate. The heat blued it all the way to the trademark. Afraid the internal teeth are compromised just as the square was.

Hang it on the shop wall with a warning sign. Illustrated of course. Some people can't read.

I probably wouldn't have the ratchet anymore.  And the guy who did that would probably be at the hospital having it extracted from the very orifice with which he was thinking when he did that!

This reminds me of an Einstein quote something to the effect of; There are only two things that are infinite, human stupidity and the universe and I'm not sure about the latter!

Man, that is brutal. I wonder how much it would cost to replace that ratchet, if you could even find one?

”Here” if you think it’s pretty obvious how something should be done, you probably better go over it anyway.

Apparently $45
