Any gov deals shoppers?  Our school was selling some stuff and got me interested.  The county had a bunch of stuff go off tonight.  Vehicles old equipmen t etc.  Bid on a truck a few times over the last several days and a few other junk treasures.   One oma single item.  True auction format is nice.  The 12.5% premium not so much.

i've won a couple of auctions on there for local stuff.  all went as they say it will.  one was a tech school metal lathe, a leblond.  got it in the shop, thought i was going to retire, and then didn't.  it's waiting for that.  was running and i talked with the instructor and viewed it.

was hoping for a dump truck on there for a long time, but those go higher  than what i need in a dump truck.  same on the backhoes.

wish i'd bought several of the detroit powered 80s blazers and gm pickups back when the local redstone arsenal had them dirt cheap (about 14yrs ago).

Local guy bought a 12 or 15k quality gas generator that I estimate to be over 25 years old (since it looks like one that I have from that era).  His looks like new. It had .3 or 1.3 hours on it.   $200 I think. Works perfect

I have bought quite a few things off of it,stuff used to go cheaper but i think it has gotten more popular, the number of bids on things is a lot higher than it was years ago. The conservation department has moved all of their surplus onto the site, they are honest about condition and disclose any known defects,i like to buy from them.

My co worker has 2 military pickups and a blazer.   All diesels.  Came from government auction in Colorado about 14-15 years ago.  He drove the blazer today with the top off.

A guy at a 4wd shop talked me out of one of the blazers, saying, they’re not fast.  I’m 58 yr old.  Fast?!?   I’m happy if I have a good BM after breakfast and don’t mind a good watch of a Lawerence Welk episode or three.  A non fast reliable as heck long term Detroit powered blazer would have been up my long term think alley.

Hmm, it's brother with a grain bed resides just up the street from my office, but a tree limb has fallen on the cab and cracked that rounded windshield.  Now the two of them put together . . . !

Have a South Bend knee mill from Amphi High that I learned on when I was in high school. A buddy picked it up, then decided he wanted a Bridgeport instead and sold it to me. Still has the high school property tag on it.

This is what I like about GovDeals. You see stuff for sale there that you will not see anywhere else.

1972 IH Cargostar road tractor  https://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?fa=Main.Item&itemid=43548&acctid=226

1972 INTERNATIONAL ROADTRACTOR

That looks really clean for what it is.

I bought this for $1.19 with fees.  I didn't think they would let it go as it required seller approval of the gavel price.  I guess they arent hauling it anywhere themselves or relisting it as i got a notice my bid was approved.  It is right next door.  I have to pick it up next week.  I did run over and check it out before bidding. Almost new.

HobbyFarm,

Good thing I didn't know that auction was going on, or I might have bid up the Cub Cadet stuff. I saw the vehicles parked in the lot for a couple of weeks and figured that they were getting ready to get rid of them.

Our local township used Municbid the other year to surplus items.

There was a bunch of scrap type stuff that went for nothing.  The thought entered my mind to by it all for $1 a bid of so and haul it.  I actually asked if I could bring a loader tractor to load the scrap forklift.  In the end i chickened out knowing i dont need anything else on the to do list.  I think the cub snow blower went for $1.  Some of the mowers were in the $300 range which was a lot given they were sitting for quite some time.  The vehicles surprised me as i thought they were all high.  I guess i am out of touch.  Seems like sitting is harder on them then anything from a rust perspective.
