Duntongw
560Dennis has a thread about the Pioneer Steam Show, and this was down the road a little bit on the same weekend. Both are in NW PA. Here are a few items I thought may be of interest for what I know. Mostly all early tractors. 7

Doug in NY
this looks like a winch
Duntongw
That is a winch that was usually used in the local oil fields. Not sure how old the setup is, in regard to being mounted to the tractor, but the first picture shows a hydraulic pump that has been added to the front side. It was common to see these winches on just about anything around here. The first tractor picture is of a Prairie Cropmaster by David Brown. Said it was number 9 of 600 built. Never heard of one personally. Not sure what that modified tractor on the trailer toward the end of the pictures is, but sure was a cute little thing. Wonder what class that would pull in? They were having a pull that day, but stock tractors. There is a picture of a HV high clear, with some sort of disks on the back. The disks are angled down, but I assume that is because they are off the ground, but they are so short, what were these used for?

This a not too common set up , a small contractor. Big contractors used Cats , heavy duty . That h I personally don’t think it would hold up under the loads ,just my opinion , that y you don’t see many . My friend in the business( Small) ,they had 8 Fordsons with winch’s ,they would use moving from wells they maintained. where I got my information.
hardtail
Really nice paint scheme on the puller 😍
ray54
That disc will throw up a ridge for flood irrigation. The ones out here generally set with a bit more angle. But what does a guy that never flood irrigated know.

There's a guy here with a H with a pulling rig on it uses it all the time especially where he can't get his truck rig into. Of course most oil wells here are only 1,500 ft deep or so
