Over Easy?

Recommended Posts

I haven’t heard anyone order a sunny side up egg in years. Personally I prefer mine poached, medium yolk, but fried the same is fine, and easier. I couldn’t eat a deviled egg for 10 bucks.
how do you like em?

Pickled. YUM!!

I had several of those at a stag night in a bar in Radcliffe IA many, many years ago....didn't end well.  But maybe that had something to do with all the beer I drank.

I like mine scrambled or if I fry them I break the yoke.  I personally don't like a runny yoke.  I also like hard boiled or deviled.

Runny yolk is good if you have some toast to soak it up with.  I usually order mine sunny side up or over easy.  And with bacon and toast.

I like eggs prepared in many different ways, and sunny side up used to be my favorite way. But it’s been many years since I’ve had them sunny side up.

Nowadays for me it’s over easy instead. When I first met wifey in 2008, she stopped me from making or ordering sunny side up due to the fear of salmonella. She says over easy is safer.

Heck I don’t know. I used to have sunny side up fried eggs ever since childhood and up through 2008 and never got salmonella poisoning from eggs, or from any other food for that matter.

There’s a couple restaurants around here that I know of that won’t do sunny side up eggs. They state it right on their menus. Due no doubt to the threat of salmonella. If there’s two places that do that, there’s probably more.

Any way but fertilized, thanks!

To be more particular:

Over easy on toast with raspberry jelly.

Toad in a hole.

Scrambled into an omelette or scrambled mixed in with something, made into a sandwich, etc.

I do over medium. Partially runny yolks, enough to dip my toast into. I can't stand runny whites. Add in some hash browns and sausage links (Kroll's Diner in Bismarck ND has the best links I've ever had) and splash on some Tabasco or Tapatio and I'm happy!

Can you taste the difference or just don’t like the idea?

Anyway you want to prepare them is fine with me. Scrambled, over easy, over hard, sunny side up, Benedict, omelet. My favorite is sunny side up, them put on a bed of hash browns(the shredded style) and mash it all together,

We have approximately 40 chickens running around, and a virtually endless supply of eggs. As far as how I like my fresh, free-range farm eggs? I like them in the carton with $3.00/ dozen printed on them; I often tell my wife often that eggs are for selling, not for eating. For some reason I never acquired a taste for cackleberries, though she likes them and occasionally makes us an omelet which I don't mind. Otherwise, I'll stick to biscuits and sausage gravy for my breakfast, or my all time favorite squirrel gravy and fried cornbread. It's rare that I get that anymore as I'm the only one who eats it!

Philippine 100 year old eggs.  No amount of alcohol could get me to try one.

Balut's are worse yet.. Automatic gag reflex.
