Mid mount sickle for super c

Recommended Posts

In my limited experience, I've only seen rear mounted sickle mowers for "C"'s.  I had one on the A which was my first tractor, but it had been adapted from one that was for a cub.  I picked up a fast hitch sickle last year which I hope to restore at some point to put on my C

I've never seen one on a C. The state of ND highway department had a fleet of As with belly mounted sickle mowers for mowing ditches. The city where my dad worked bought one when the state upgraded to newer equipment. Super nice and handy little mowing tractor. I believe it was an A23 highway mower as it would lift from horizontal to vertical with touch control and would keep operating in the vertical position.

Anyone know of a model number mid mount sickle mower for a super c? Just something to putz with but would like to stay away from a pitman arm mower.

I have a 110 on my H. The sales literature says they had completing packages to put them on a C although I’ve never seen 1. The 110 mowers aren’t that uncommon but finding the mounting equipment for a C probably isn’t going to happen.

I would look for a Kosch. A C can easily handle a 9 ft bar. Back in the day when everyone actually mowed wet meadows, there were a LOT of C tractors with a 9 foot mid mount mower. If they could go through it, the M with the double bars could usually make it.
I am pretty sure there’s 1 sitting in Mullen Nebraska, and will bet there’s a couple at Sandhills Equipment in Basset Nebraska.

That chart is very interesting and confirmed my thought that the 110 could fit.  The neighbor to the south years ago had one on a 460.  Would there be a kit for a 706?

That literature doesn’t list the 706 but I think it’s before they were introduced. But I have some later literature that shows the 110 on a 706.

Allis Chalmers made a belly mount for their ''B'' and ''C'' series

was given a AC ''C'' last fall and it came with a belly mount sickle mower

its a whole lot easier to cut hay with it ,, just have to look down not backwards

with c3-c4 fused in my neck its a lot less pain

I had an International 240 with a 110 mid mount sickle mower.  The 240 frame is the same a C, so one would fit on a C

The 110 mower Operator’s Manual shows that a C would need auxiliary hydraulics as the Touch Control rockshaft cannot be used to lift the mower.
