A Long Shot, Part for Cub Cadet

Recommended Posts

I need a planter control lift module for my 950 planter, part is NLA from Case IH. Ag Express says it can't be fixed. Been looking or a while, googled it today and a place listed it as also used on Cub Cadet and some IH trucks. Of course it's been sold, but they did have a picture of it. Part number 251441A1. I called a Cub Cadet dealer and he said the part number isn't in the file for Cub Cadets, but if it's discontinued it probably won't be. Age of the planter is late 1990's. Wouldn't know what purpose it would have on a Cub Cadet, deck interlock or something? I wouldn't know what model to even start looking at, 782 or in that series?

Any info appreciated.

Doing some googling late 90s would be late cyclops or early in to the next series like the 2185.

Well got a call and no cigar. He said 90 % of their inventory is Kinze and Deere. He suggested Sikeston?

Not sure who that would be, in Sikeston. Will ask around and get back to you

All States said no planters there. Transferred me to Downing WI and no 950 or 955's. At least no front folds.

So what is this used for on the planter, what does it do?  Is it a safety switch or is it actually part of computer for lifting planter and doing something else?

It's a time delay for lifting the planter and also controls the markers. Maybe 30% of the time the planter just won't lift. Had it at a dealer for 4 weeks and they didn't fix it either. Planted all my corn with the 6 row 800. The dealer figured out if you tap on the box it goes up.  You hear a click inside and it raises. So an internal short or something.

I'd be interested to know where it is used on a Cub cadet.

Click and function with a tap sounds like a relay.

Those are pretty universal and cheap. At some point I'd be doing some exploratory surgery on that box... At our place the function is more important than having the right part number. Be careful and do no harm is rule #1. If you can get inside and a $6 relay fixes it, is it a bad idea?

I googled the part number and "Aftermarket Express" shows it in stock as a Cub Cadet part. $211.45 with s&h. Scketchy reviews on the sight tho...

That's the place I called that sent me the picture in the first post. It apparently got sold, not sure why it's still listed.

Parts Depot in Tennessee shows 2 in stock of kit B93686.  This might contain the marker module you are looking for.

Thanks for letting me know about this. I had a dealer call The Depot and the kit is $295 plus freight. So had them order one. I didn't know there was such a kit, the parts books are pretty limited on what's offered for these planters.
