+Happy July 4th

It is a double great day here.

Independence Day, we got over an inch of rain and it is still raining.

We needed it.

If it rains all day, I will be a happy guy.

Don't forget to put your flag up?

Remember gentlemen, "Don't go off prematurely?"

My father and some of the nephews have taken antique tractors to the county parade for a number of years. With me working third shift and doing hay I haven’t gone. This year I’m on normal sleep schedule and hay was done early so I finally got to go. We had to get there a full hour early just to get a decent parking spot. First jacob on the farmall 100, dad on the 200, Braden on the 300 and Adam on 300 utility. The dairy princess float was right behind them.

Working today with my sidekick because Mom is working today too. She is good help especially when you pay her in ice cream. I think when we all make it back home later this afternoon we are going to take it easy and get in the pool. I need to haul some cattle to some new pasture but with the heat today I think it will wait until tomorrow. Happy Independence Day.

My oldest son's boss owns this old truck. Son used his afternoon off yesterday to clean this old girl up. Pretty good for one that sits outside 365 days a year. It was loaded with kids and buckets of candy for the parade in Parkville this morning. Resized_2(1).thumb.jpg.82c56cb9e768e55c4f0f0070cc73d61c.jpg

Used my Cub Cadet 147 and 6x12 utility trailer to haul a load of kids in a parade today.  I may be biased but if a tractor isn't in the parade it isn't a parade.

Happy independence day! PXL_20230704_122004721_MP.thumb.jpg.fad3566f583bb83e4dd4dd5adcc7af72.jpgPXL_20230704_122014900.thumb.jpg.7ecd27f39234bdf66ab20e2879474010.jpgFB_IMG_1688498019490.thumb.jpg.76f4c62bdbf385237332f0b01172fc2c.jpg

Happy 4th everyone!!

I found an app that fades in an image to a picture so I’ve tried it with several wheat harvest photos.

I took the first in July 2021. CaseIH 7250, 1996 New Holland Versatile 9482, and Parker 1000 bushel grain cart.

Second is from July 1971 of my great-grandpas harvest. Gleaner F he bought in 1970 and IH A-160 truck he bought new in 1957. Not long after he put the grain box with stock racks on it.

Last is an International push mower my great grandpa (same one) bought new around 1974. I started it up for the first time today since last August and mowed a few passes with it. Fun stuff for sure!!
