Auction prices ( stationary engine) will blow your mind

A older fellow passed away and they held his estate sale. I understand no kids just long distance relatives. Go onto Auman auction for entire results but the first engines brought huge money. Farther down sale listing some titan and McCormick engines brought decent money.

Some impressive prices for those engines.

Before uncle George passed away he and his siblings were discussing that most likely all the hit and miss engines were scrapped for the war effort in WW2 . I think they saved the steam engine from the Millhouse in the last few years when cleaning up the farm

The prices don't shock me. It is an Aumann auction, after all.

Great looking engines!

I have been watching side shaft engines for several years, they always command a premium +

Im not sure however, that the next generation really gives a dam about any of them.

make sure you log onto aumann auctions. 3 pages of engines in this sale. think they had 5 total sales for farm equipment, engines,  parts , shop and household.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is the difference between the IH side shaft and other IH stationary engine? We have a 6hp IH engine that I'd let go of for that kind of money!😉

Ok I got it. Camshaft on the side. The one I have is definitely NOT a side shaft!  Guess I'm not selling it for 50K!

A little newer but I got this puppy for $350 in October 2019 as you see it in the first pic. All I did was paint a few parts, add decals, and add an oak wagon to it.

That pump jack is so cool. I bought a basket case LA with a pump jack at an auction a few years ago because I wanted the pump jack for mine. It's in the list of things I want to fix up.

It’s a pretty neat engine. Just push the clutch lever to engage and disengage the pump jack. It’s pretty smooth.

Any of you guys looking for hit n miss engines, this guy is auctioning off a bunch.  Some corn shellers too.  Would be a neat auction to see.

No affiliation with it or owner, just adding in for those interested.
