Can anyone identify this old gal for me? She’s sitting around our farm, would be cool to restore and drag some of my farmalls around with

I guess it would be a late 1955 through 1957. Not too familiar with the big trucks of that era. The 1958 pickup received dual headlights. One day I’d like to own a ‘56 pickup.

To expand upon the above: In 1955 there was the first series which looked like the older '54 and previous and the second series, which looks like yours. Since the pickup cabs are essentially the same there are all sorts of restoration parts available. Google 55-57 restoration parts. You can pretty much build a new one if your pockets are deep enough.

I’m going to guess 1956 or 57 because the id tag lists a 283 as one of the engine choices.  A 1955 truck would look similar, but I believe the engine would be a 265.  Good old trucks.  One of my uncles had one I put a few miles on.

This is a '55 or '56, the '57 had a ridge on each side of the hood from front to back.

If it shows a 283 it has to be a 57. 56 was still 265 for the v8. Hood emblem is 56-57 v8. Different than the 6 cylinders. Ridges on the hood are 57 only. V emblem on door is 57 only. 56 had them on the fender.

One of my many relatives had a 57 1/2T he got new in 57. Chevy dash and grill looked like that. Chevy light blue, I6 and 3 speed on the tree. I drove it many times before I left the area in 1963. It got totaled about 68 when someone pulled into the road in from of his son. Believe he replaced it with a 69 1/2T. He still had the new one in 2009!  He also had a C50 after 66.

The fender emblems are missing so not sure what size truck it is. Fender emblems were also 1 year only, as were each year of the"Task Force" trucks. 55 was below the body line, 56 above, 57 above but different oval shape. 58 and 59 each had their own design also. Based on the GVW it's probably a 1957 6000 series or 8000 series. I can't speak for 1957 but I know that 1956 has the vin plate on the left a pillar. I don't see one in your pic so either it is missing or 57 moved them. The vin in 56 would start with v6 for a V8 6000 series with the next letter being the wheelbase, then 56 for model year.  V6B56 is a v8, 6000 series, B wheelbase 1956 model year. So if that holds true for 1957 a vin starting with V6B57 would indicate V8, 6000 series, B wheelbase 1957 model year. 6 cylinder models have the same vin just without the V prefix.

I am seeing a 6V-53 Detroit with an Allison Automatic strapped to the back of it.

OR, I have an old Deuce and a half with a GMC 271 6 popper, and a 4 speed hydramatic behind it....

HMMMMMM.   🤔

Take a closer look. Ridges are there.

Thank you, I didn't enlarge the pic enough the first time I looked.
