Good year super torque vs Firestone f&r

Recommended Posts

I have a new set of 14.9-38 Firestone field and road on my s.m. for pulling. Lots of people say ditch new tires for old women out hard tires. A fella has a set of good year what he thought he remembers as super torques (wavy tread design) he said he would basically give to me if I wanted them. Which one would you choose? Reading online it seems like no one really likes the good years for pulling but I wondered if they would be better for pulling vs my new tires.

By the way, I have no trouble with traction, it's the HP I need lol.

If I had a set of those Goodyears I’d give them to you too!!    It all depends on track.   You don’t want to pile up dirt in front of sled to pull more weight.   I would not waste the effort putting on those Goodyears.

Free is free I’d take them. We bought our 400 diesel for the tires to put on my M but got the 400 diesel running and left everything the way it was. The 400 has the Goodyear wavy bars on it and I pull it in 8000lbs class. Would much rather have firestones hands down but again free is free and they can go on another project

When I really think about it, I have never had a set of Good Years that I liked.

Watched a mis matched set yesterday, Firestone on left, old tire on the right. Firestone never spun at all despite the only brake applied was the right.

An old friend of mine preferred old worn down Firestone Deep Tread tires for pulling.

Sure I would too, if I could find them, and after I find them, be able to afford them.
