Mic4Jesus
Hello, I am wanting to add an auxiliary valve to a 1486 powered by the power beyond. I know it's an open center system and I'll need an open center valve. I also know that I should be able to feed my valve from the port coming out the front of the end plate on the valve body. My question is it seems that on this tractor the brake lube lines also are fed from that port. So I probably don't want to cap that line off. But if I tee off of that line to feed my valve it would pressurize the brake lube lines when I'm using the aux valve. Any help?
HydroTek
On the valve stack end plate, remove the large supercharge line, that runs to the MCV connect the line that feeds your new valve inlet to the fitting on the valve stack connect the return from your new valve to the supercharge line, to complete the circuit This is an easy add on for a secondary valve 1

Even though I had documented proof of that exact recommendation having been made dozens of times in the past, with absolutely no concern expressed for putting "un-filtered oil" into the MCV. I remember that and said nothing. If it makes you feel better it is no more unfiltered than the auxiliary return oil that still returns there. stronger800
What makes some oil filtered, and some oil unfilter? In my mind, all of the oil is filtered ….because it gets through the filter at some point.
HydroTek
Then the return oil from the factory valve stack is "unfiltered" also -- LoL Do the mod and don't over think it. I have done this mod many times for customers -- Also have a couple out there with variable flow to run a hydraulic motor from that same port -- and the controls are inside the cab -- pretty slick setup
bitty
here is a thread that I asked for the correct ways to add to my 186
Matt Kirsch
Pretty sure this is an "official" diagram from IH:

HydroTek
Maybe, ...the mod I done ran a spray pump 15 gallons enough for that planter ? -- just need to watch your temperature

HydroTek
A push-pull diverter and flow control valve would be the simplest setup to use you could sub in a 2 spool valve if there is a need for an extra remote -- but one spool would be dedicated to the flow control I modded a push-pull diverter and flow control under the cab then ran the control rods thru the floor, near the RH console -- one for the diverter and another for the flow control There is no priority valve on the '86 series with open center -- and connecting the planter fans like this will cause some variation when lifting the planter . The full flow still goes to the lifting operation, and since the return from the valve stack is supplying the fans you would notice some pressure fluctuations -- as long as you do not hit relief when the planter lifts, the fans will still operate -- other wise flow at the valve stack power beyond port stops, while the main relief is open https://www.northerntool.com/products/hydroworks-side-ported-flow-control-valve-sae-12-ports-30-gpm-model-fc163n11-69826? https://www.northerntool.com/products/buyers-products-nptf-2-pos-selector-valve-gpm-10-working-port-1-2-in-max-psi-3000-model-hsv050-4901703

Would it help to run more fluid? I already run 5 gal over. So much of my peanut equipment has hyd motors it would be neat if I could use these tractors more. Even thought about a cooler added somewhere
acem
If you use the oil cooler that comes on the cyclo planter it should keep the oil cool. But a temp gauge would be good.
