gafarm49
set on 36 in rows, will they fit? I put them on a 4840 and now it runs 21mph in road gear. It wouldn't hurt to speed the 1586 up and having 1rst high faster would be good
brahamfireman
I've seen 42's but I think 46's will be into the fenders. even at 36" I don't think the tires are outside the cab fenders.
Gearclash
If a 20.8 x42 won’t fit, an 18.4 x 46 won’t either.
NY1468
18.4 42’s fit but not by a lot.  I also have 14.9 46’s on my 10, they don’t t miss by much either.
Lars (midessa)
Is a 18.4 x 46 wider than a 18.4 x 38?

IH Forever
My brother has a 1586 with 18.4x42 on 30" row. As others have said I'm sure 18.46x46 won't fit inside the fenders, even on 36" rows I don't think you are out far enough to get past the fenders.
brewcrew
I’ve seen just a couple 5x88 tractors with 20.8-42. Is there a difference in fender height between them and the 86? Or perhaps were the fenders shaved to fit? I know there is a difference in diameter between brands and styles of tires. Perhaps find a taller 42 or shorter 46? Matt Kirsch
This thread says there's an inch to spare. Just never get in the mud with it. Â

gafarm49
Might be just enough room
INTERNATIONAL 1466
The fender isn't as much the problem as in front of the tire. Gets too close by the door so to speak. This is why 20.8x42's fit on an 88 and not an 86. The wheels are further rearward on an 88 allowing them to just fit. 1
