from H to 80
It’s been so dry and our hay crop so poor that we are baking everything in sight. This is a retention pond on a farm we rent. The last piece of new Gehl equipment I bought and the 5488 earning it’s keep.
jimw
Nice rig . How’s the Gehl compare to other brands . Don’t see any around here.

Lars (midessa)
The last 2 weeks or so, we have had rain showers every day or so. The pastures in the Texas Hill county, and northern portion of the Permian Basin have become greener and more lush than I’ve seen in the 10 years we have lived here. from H to 80
As far as the baler i've really never had any issues, where i needed parts,it's 21 years old and has been good to us.
Farmall1066
Getting dry in my area of MN as well! Mowed the lawn twice, and it’s already starting to get that whitish light blue look as it goes dormant in a drought.

That was a rare "option" here & many were using net by then. Mike
Rawleigh99
Been pretty wet in Virginia. It has rained at least twice a week since last month. It rained on and off all weekend.
1256pickett
We went straight mud to bone dry. Less than Half inch since may 1. Nothing forecast for next 10 days. I did a little hay this weekend. Earliest hay I’ve ever done and the shortest too. My baler didn’t like it when it got too dry. It kept plugging up. Real nice hay but some ugly bales. Worst thing was finding the new neighbors thought they needed a bigger lawn and mowed 12-15 feet into the hayfield! I was trying to calm myself down before I talk to them but everytime I go over they weren’t home. The one time I went over to check on the hay as soon as I pulled in the field they hopped in the car and left. I wonder if they realized that I might be a little pissed off. I figure I’ll give them the benefit of being nice first then go from there. Maybe a new pipe fence? It’s not ideal spot to stack hay but maybe a few bales? Maybe I need to pick rocks and dump them there?

Mike Yes It is a twine only baler, our hay goes inside so i never needed net wrap. The next baler,if i ever wear this one out, will have net wrap, so we can pick up some of the custom baling.

Not that you have done that but it's the trend around here. Was a little upset when the guy renting moms tore out the line fence and put up very far spaced out t posts with white poly pipe slipped over it. I see someone has already knocked one leaning way to the side. This after a few year previous we had told the neighbor farming the field on the other side of the fence we didn't want it tore out.... iowaboy1965
Getting dry here too tho there is some chance of rain next few days and it did rain in the Des Moines area last night. Not sure how much but enough to leave puddles and make ground tacky. Ft Dodge got pounded with 3,1/2 all at once yesterday I heard.
mmi
no neighbors, make better fences we have a rented farm, where one rides thru woods 1500' to mow a dog path, and the farm house renter ,rides atv like X/O
DR.EVIL
Back in the 1960's & 1970's the neighborhood I grew up in everything was fenced, 20, 40, occasionally an 80 acre field. I guess Dad and I are responcible for converting several 20's into '40's. BTO across the road has 320 acres without a single fence. Even line fences dividing property ownership are gone, guess they trust GPS and auto-steer to determine who owns what.
