Dewalt and Milwaukee cordless?

pt756

Recommended Posts

Hello. so yesterday a conversation came up about cordless tools, guy said that Milwaukee and Dewalt are owned by the same parent company, and then went on to say the plan was to keep the Milwaukee line just a bit better, Guess i have never heard that before, probably one country now owns more than we would of ever realized? I did say the Milwaukee vice grips i think are better than the current vice grip brand,

Milwaukee has obviously put a ton of effort in to their hand tools.

No. They are different companies owned by different conglomerates.

DeWalt is owned by Stanley Black and Decker. Stanley is based in the USA with worldwide manufacturing.

Milwaukee is owned by Techtronic Industries Company Limited. TTI is based in China with worldwide manufacturing.

Sorry about the bold. No emphasis intended.

I would assume that all the power tools are made on the same assembly line in the great State of Red China, branded with what once a American Product name and buyer beware.  My baseline is the Craftsman brand, only thing, the same is the C in the name (if it is). from the real tool and 2023.

Yes Stanley owns Dewalt and Milwaukee and visegrip and a whole host of other companies. Some Dewalts are assembled in the USA with foreign made components. Last I knew Milwaukee was solely manufactured by Techtonic for Stanley.  Last I knew Tectonic owned only the manufacturing plant. They in turn are owned by a number of entities including Ryobi.

Both have really good tools that have revolutionized fixing things forever.
We don’t even keep an air impact on the service truck anymore. We needed more room for cordless tools!

I used to be DeWalt, now all Milwaukee.  The DeWalt impact should be thrown away compared to the Milwaukee.

The only air wrench I use anymore is an air ratchet, because I don't yet own a cordless one. All Dewalt here, both corded and cordless. Both have been great. 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2" impacts. I'm amazed at how much I use the 1/4".

we run the DeWalt 20v here on the farm

the impact driver gets the most use putting up pallets for pig pens

back in the day wen we had a restaurant repair business everything was Milwaukee power tools [could rite off the cost]

only complaint is the battery's is the price and durability [DeWalt]

the best deal is buy 2 battery's and get a power tool charger and bag thrown in free [Fathers Day sale]

Ya hit da nail dere newey, the 1/4 works on "almost" everything, I used it last night to take the seats out of the jeep, not quite enough power but the 1/2 was buried so I went armstrong, I don't think anything would have moved them as it took an 18" johnson bar in 3/4 to get them to budge and it almost went to using a snipe.

I’ve been talking about the merits of the Milwaukee fuel tools here for years.  I have a dozen pieces of the 18v stuff.   The 1/2” impact rarely comes out, because the 3/8 will take a lug nut/stud down to 150-160ft lbs easily.   The 1/4” gets used for Tons of stuff. It’s silly powerful. So powerful, that  I recently dropped down even smaller  and got my first 12v pieces, as to better reach into tiny spaces.   The 12v uses the little stick in type batteries.  I have not checked them with a torque wrench yet, but I bet the driver is good for 40 ft lbs anyway, and the ratchets maybe 30.    The 1/4” 18v will do 85lb if you let it rattle for just 2-3 seconds.

Ace beat me to it.  Good chart of who owns what.  Sad how it's so few at the top today

I just noticed a 20V pressure washer gun by DeWalt.

I had to look it up and found it is only 550 psi but that is 10 times more than a garden hose.

Hook a garden hose to it and slam a battery to it and you are in business.

May be handy for small and quick jobs. What will they think of next?

Daughters boyfriend has one, he’s a contractor, used it for quick emergency tool cleanups.  He calls it’s a squirt gun. It’s not much but it’s something.

Buddy also has one that he knocks the pollen off his deck and boat dock with at his camp.

I’ve squeezed them.  I wouldn’t want to pay much myself

I have a set of Milwaukee nut drivers that are sturdy but a very poor fit.

No one comes close to the compact size of a small high speed air ratchet. Milwaukees small cordless ratchet is as big as a beer can and that does not make me feel like getting down to work.

You don’t shove all that crap down in beside your engine, just that sweet little air ratchet.
