Red Dirt 806
I have a good 806 LP with a stacked bearing. I have a good running 966 with major transmission and rear end issues. Question is can I put the 2 together at the bell housing and use the 966 sheet metal?
stronger800
Think of the front radiator casting. That’s what comes to my mind first anyway. They are not compatible with the other style hoods you could swap out the transmissions and rear end though. Put the 806 center and rear into the 966. Use the 966’s fuel tank and steering column. And speed and range covers off the 966.

Gearclash
Fix them both. Win Win Win.
Dan Robinson
Will bolt right up. You'll have to use the 966 fuel tank and supports.
RAH
Yes will work fine as stated. Will make you a nice project.
stronger800
966 fuel tank, supports and column, How about the radiator support? And range cover. I felt the way I suggested was easiest.
Matt Kirsch
I was assuming that the end result would look like a 966, so the radiator and radiator support would come along with the 966 front half. If the desired result is to have it look like an 806, then it's a bit more work. Turns out from the other tread that you don't have to change the column at all. All the 66 series stuff allegedly bolts on to the 806 column. So no need to change the range cover if you don't mind keeping the 806 shifting.
acem
I've seen a 1456.with a DT414 so it can be done.
