twostepn2001
Friend of mine was checking on some cows on his ranch yesterday near Matador, Texas. Said his horse all the sudden started acting spooked. Then he heard the familiar "rattle" of a rattlesnake. About 20 feet in front of him about eye level with the horse was a big 'ol rattler......in the mesquite tree!! Like a lot of us born in rattler country, from a early age always taught to "look where you step", but never taught to look up when it comes to rattlesnakes. 6

nomorejohndeere
I watched some college age girls go under a tree and had a snake fall into their canoe It was great fun to watch I'd never seen the combo of paddles, coolers, leaves and boobies do what they did that day....
Pete1468
Even snakes hate each other and won't touch the ground!
yellowrosefarm
When you said "look up" I thought you meant when you were ducking under something, so you didn't conk your noggin like I did on the gooseneck trailer yesterday. But, I'll take that goose egg over the rattler in the tree any day.
CC_Ranger
The other week I was at a habitat field day for the Ruffed Grouse Society. After we finished our tree planting and were heading to another spot to have lunch I decided to jump into the brush to relieve myself. As I walked past this spruce tree I saw something on a branch about 4 feet off the ground, I glanced at it and thought, geeze someone threw a rubber snake out, what a litter bug, but then I looked again and realized it was about a 4 foot black snake stretched out on the branch. That was a first for me, it was one of the first warm days of spring and I think the snake just got out of hibernation. We found another one in the next location also. Now I don't just watch were I step, but what I walk under also !
