Did a few soybeans today, about 12.5% ,moisture. Going to try and pick up the 25' platform I got for it tomorrow.  This is a 20.

How’s harvest coming along? Hopefully things have been moving along nicely for you guys.  Forecast is pretty ugly here for the next few days. Had hoped to spray today again but it’s been heavy overcast all day and looking like it could rain any minute. Had a really heavy fog this morning that settled in and saturated everything.  4:30 now and your boots still get wet walking through the grass.

Very nice combines FarmerFixEmUp and  Farmerboy72. They both look pretty shiny yet.

thing winding down here i have everything mostly cleaned up and fixed up , couple oil changes to do yet but other than that things are quite still to early to pack things into the shed yet

Thanks, Mine's a 1989 model and has 5500 engine hours now. Think I've had it 14 years .  Added the power rear axle 3 years ago. I don't think I would have been able to get the corn out that year without it.  Water standing everywhere.

Yesterday I finished up the corn that I wanted to get done for better access of the soybeans. At least some of them should go next weekend. Dropped the cornhead and cleaned the machine up some yesterday, it really needs to see the power washer. Had a hydraulic hose spring a leak, it's a bit messy in that area now! That may happen later today.

It's slow here. Get a day or 2 of going then a week of rainy damp weather. We got a long ways to go yet. Well over half the wheat left and just did 1 field of canola yesterday till a thunderstorm rolled through about 11 last night. Further south missed that one so hoping today it will go down there but looks like a cloudy damp day and then another week of rain. Pretty much been like this the past 4 weeks

Great pictures especially the ones in the hills. Hard to beat the colors of fall they sure make for a nice backdrop. Did you guys pick up a newer combine?  Forecast for next week doesn’t look to bad or at least last time I looked it wasn’t to bad so hopefully there’s some good weather left yet. Technically I’m not done yet either so I’m still hoping for a week or so of nicer weather too.  Got lots of other projects I’d like to catch up on too before the snow comes.

Yea the leaves have been hanging on here pretty good this year. Been 3 weeks of colour already and still some green ones yet. We did upgrade a little this year.  Picked up a 460 Cat Lexion. 35 foot straight head too so it cleans up acres quick if we just get the weather. Might not be any more pull type pics from me now lol. Hopefully we get a nice October right across and everyone can wrap up harvest and other projects

Still some standing canola around the area to straight cut but I'm about the only guy with canola swaths still laying. Did a bin full but was losing so much time plugging and unplugging the feeder on the 7721 that I moved everything home and went to work on the wheat to get it done before the weather turned bad. My nephew swathed ahead of me and it went pretty smooth. Got back to try the canola Friday afternoon and got a few more truck loads done before quitting. Standing in the header pulling handfulls of canola straw out at 11:30 at night was the end of my day. Probably close to 150 acres left. Got another rainy or showery day and maybe another tomorrow. At the rate I'm going I'll need another week to finish. Was barely making 3 acres an hour on Friday. 

Got some good leaf colours going on here too. Got to enjoy it while it lasts.

Nice. I’ve been looking around debating what to move up to next. Would like to get something newer too just don’t know what yet. Been debating over all the colors.

That sure don’t sound like much fun. Bright side is at least there’s some bushels there to back it up helpS ease the pain a little lol. You’re gona need a new combine too to avoid all the income tax next year Ralph lol.

That is not fun. You must have lots of material to put through on the canola too? Seems like most of Manitoba had very tall canola and it has been slow going whether swathed or standing from what I'm hearing. I also wouldn't say the yields are matching the stand but at least there is something there. So far I haven't had any issues putting the swaths through but it sure is slow going. And the ol Massey/claas is sure making some different noises lol

Was weird here this year. I think most guys like myself went into harvest thinking we’d be in the 35-45 bpa range. Crops weren’t overly tall and even prettt thin in some spots. The bushels sure seemed to pump out regardless though. I haven’t talked to a lot of other local farmers to hear the coffe shop bushels per acre but I think overall everyone was pretty satisfied. Must’ve been some bushels out there as the prices seem to keep on falling 😢.  Talking with the rep at g3 almost a month ago about 18$ canola and how a lot of people had that in the back of their head for this year. I said at the time with my luck I’ll end up selling it for 15. Looking like I might not be far off unfortunately unless things start to turn around again and go the other way. Wheat susprised me more, it’s down to. 8 bucks right now.

I was wanting to go to another rotary but we needed something for straw incase the Massey goes down again. So that really narrows the options down. Was either going to be a deere, NH, or claas. And we didn't really want a NH. This popped up and here we are lol

That's kind of what I was hearing about wheat when guys started around here. Was running a good bit better than expected. So far can't complain here. As long as it all ends up in the bin things will be ok lol. Prices can definitely come back up though. Although 2 years ago we woulda been very happy with 8 bucks lol

I’ve been tossing around the idea of a newer class but they seem like a lot to maintain. I don’t really know enough about them yet to make a informed decision. I tend to keep leaning back towards a 8120 or 8230. Been. Considering a s series Deere as well but I’m not sure I have a pile of faith in our local dealership anymore and everyone says they tend to throw over more. Brother in law has ran them for years and loves them. He actually moved up to a x9 this year. He was really happy with it. For the price tag he better be though lol.

Thanks, just got this machine in July, haven't run it yet. Had time and Put a quick coat of wax on it shortly after we took delivery of it. Should help the dirt slide off!! Hope to be running so e corn come Wednesday.

Local dealership was showing off the née snowmobile shelter they helped put up north east of home. Kind of nice to see the clubs out getting things set up and ready. Wont be long now and the weather will be changing. 
 

Took off on the quad this afternoon for a while after the rain had quit. Ended up with 1.25 inches roughly.  Everything is soaked up pretty good now. Wont take long to disappear though I’m sure.  Hoping to get out for a few more decent quad rides yet but might be running out of time.  Old quad made another milestone today. I remember when I bought it my brother said let’s talk about it again when it hits 10,000 kms lol.  It’s served me well.

Coat of wax really helps that’s for sure. I need to do ours again. It’s a big job to do the whole thing that’s for sure.

ended up with a half inch here so nice dust settler for a few days, ya new combines are nice really like my 7088 but an upgrade crosses my mind every once in a while but with lower grain prices and interest rates on the rise and i'm sure they'll try to steal my trade i think i'll run this one for another couple years 

think i'd go with an 8230 if i did anything but a guy can dream

 

this weather feels more like late October than early October i walked past my sled today thinking it wont be long now but warm weather is on its way here again yet
