There was a local guy here who farmed a couple of hundred acres with a JD R and a 141 combine just like if it was the 1950s. He could squeeze a dime out of a nickel. When the shovels on his plow wore down, he would just loosen the shanks and move them in closer. I saw him one day cutting his crop so I stopped and went out caught a ride with him. That engine blew the dust/chaff right at you. He drove that thing slightly turned to the left to shield himself. That was over 20 years ago and he is long gone.
