nepoweshiekfarmalls
This week's featured tractor is the 450 (four-fiddy for our friend Bitty). Let's see your examples. I will start with the 450 that my Grandfather, Vernon Gorsh, purchased new in 1958. My cousin recently sent this photo of Grandpa on the 450 in July of 1962. Not certain of the model of combine he is pulling. My Aunt and Uncle purchased the tractor from Grandpa when he retired from farming. My Aunt and my cousin have promised me that tractor. My Uncle just will not let go of it!

bitty
I have four currently. Puller, LP, gas and a diesel is the last one I got. First pictures is the one we sold ☹️ wish I had bought it . Last picture is one Todd sent me from a show, if anyone finds a good Wheatland one very reasonable price in excellent condition Todd likes them and he would be interested in adopting it

forwhldrv
Here’s my 450 it’s a 58 I have been working on this for a few years just finally got it together enough to run it at a few pulls this fall I hope to bring it to a few plow days this spring still have a few oil leaks to fix want to get them all fixed before painting it up. The second 450 is my girlfriend’s she said she wanted a tractor so when asked if she wanted a little one like a Super C she said no a regular sized tractor like an M so I found another 450 a couple hrs away the guy was building a puller out of it. We dyno’ed them both last fall hers pulled 52-54 Hp mine pulled 64 Hp I was happy with it now I may have to freshen her motor up at some time to liven it up some more. I have some 16.9’s to put on mine this spring last fall even with 9 wheel weights on each side it spun right out pulling the stone I’m hoping a little more rubber on the ground can help over the 15.5’s that are on it

Sledgehammer
I have several from shows and various places. Someday I would like to find a W450 gas if money allows it at the time.

Ours had them back in the day otherwise I would probably not have a draw towards them. All mine need work and or restoration

The holes are for the truss rods that go to the cultivators. You can see them on the toy pictured above. Mike
mijohn
I believe the combine is a massy harris clipper 50. they used the same elevator to fill and empty the grain tank.
856 Custom
Not a gasser fan, but I could sure enjoy a gas 450 n/f with the fast hitch, one heck of a lot more than that local 966 n/f with the red IH cab I got a year ago. That cab ruin's the whole tractor for me. I used it last year to rake some hay and thought never again. There was a 450 gasser around here from '84-'90 and dad traded it off for a 1063 cornhead. I hated to see it go.

It tends to get some waves in it as the pull goes on we scrape it flat and roll it every so often. Usually by the end of the night we will pull on whatever’s there just trying to eliminate the last couple tractors after a long day. It is getting the load moving and keeping it moving through tough spots that develop in the track after each pull. Sorry thought you had asked me about the stone boat pull that does look like asphalt
