nate
Well, there’s a large frame hydro back on the farm now. We used to have a 186 15-20 years ago. Dad picked up a 1026 a week or two ago. Now we are fixing things a 50 plus year old tractor needs and making it how we want it.
bitty
One of the most desirable of the hydros in my book
Jacka
Very nice, paint is excellent for such old tractor if it's original and does look like it. I love my 1026.
7and8and1456
What brand is that cab? Going to reinstall it after the repairs?
Sledgehammer
Looks straight and clean for the age overall. Good for you adding that to the fleet. I second the cab question. Going to put it back or leave it off?
INTERNATIONAL 1466
I vote chrome pipe and leave the cab off. She should polish up really nice. Very nice condition for sure!
nate
Cab is a Cozy Cab, was made west of us in Litchfield MN. No the cab is not going back on. We think this tractor was sold new with no fenders because the ones on it are early 06 ones with only one grab hand and the paint mark on the rear light and how the wiring harness is for the rear section. Pressure washed and fixed wiring.
DT Fan
Very nice! Those don't come up for sale very often. Looks like a darn good one too.
red_reaper
Don't forget, you have to check the hyd oil in the trans on this tractor while it's running! it takes a lot more hyd oil than gear drives. Great tractors! I'd ditch those side tank lights, get the correct panels without holes and put the fender lights in it if it were mine. Makes them look a lot better.
Farmall1066
I believe the large lights by the fuel tank indicates fender delete. I could be wrong, but pretty sure that is from a reliable source to the south! Darn nice looking 1026! Where did your dad find that?

Yes those lights were used when not equipped with fenders, or the clamshell fenders without lights. I’ve even seen them on tractors as new as a pair of 686 tractors! Dan Robinson
Yes, factory fender delete tractor! It has the correct curved rear field light, and side hood lights. Nice looking original!
Jacka
I like those side lights, put fender lights in and keep'em.
856 Custom
Nice find! If you would've said that cab was going back on I'd have thought why would you want to punish yourself. Lol
ny bill o
Fine looking tractor! Ever since I was old enough to want to farm on my own, a 1026 was (still is) one of my dream tractors. A 1026 and 1206 and something smaller for chores.

Yep, we have 3 other IH hydro tractors on the farm. It’s probably going to keep the side lights for now and add the fender lights 23 hours ago, Farmall1066 said: I believe the large lights by the fuel tank indicates fender delete. It came from MN Dakota border. 22 hours ago, 560DT said: i see an original looking muffler there nice find Good eye. It is an IH muffler. Thanks for all the kind comments. It’s a good fit with the rest of our 56 series tractors.
nate
Went through the seat suspension, freed up the adjustable links that were packed with mud, going through tilt wheel. , new pivot bushing in wide front, will get anew seat eventually.
stronger800
I have not noticed spindles that protrude above the steering arms like that before? Given, I’m not sure that I would’ve noticed anyway, I just know we’ve not had any like that here, but I’ve never had a 1026 either.

It will get swapped out if we find the correct one reasonably.

But I believe you couldn't get a ICB on a 1026, and the rear work light was bolted to the cab. The rear light bracket on yours is fender delete only. Keep up the good progress!

red_reaper
It is in fact a factory fender delete tractor! As mentioned above, the rear light bracket is correct, and you can see the missing paint on the side of the light bracket where the flashing warning light bracket bolted onto it. I always wondered what platform they used for non fender tractors. Cool !
