dads706
Why don't they put handles on the ends of a mattress. A king or queen size mattress is the most gawd awful ackward thing ever to move or carry. I should invent mattress handles. I could become a zillionaire. 6

stronger800
I remember mattresses with handles, the last few I’ve purchased did not have them, but I have a neighbor who purchased a very expensive/over priced mattress that weighed about as much as a small SUV last year, I helped them manipulate it up their stairs, and it did have handles on it. I think it was pillow topped, top, bottom, and sides. About twice as thick as you’d think a mattress should be.
russ_alabama
yep, the old ones from the 60s and 70s had the handles. i got a overpriced casper brand last year out of desperation on back arthritis (did help a lot) and it was in a box that i obsessively and cleverly hand trucked near the bed and then trimmed off the shrink wrap plastic till it exploded upside down and backwards. fate likes a battle. 2

sandhiller
We tried a Casper and it did not help my back at all so tried out their return policy, hassle free. Spent the money on a used air bed thing, pump it up to 97 I think it goes to and my back has never felt better waking up in the morning.

But it sure worked great up till then. I did it often. Just a lot of arthritis, but not near as bad as some. I ain’t complaining.

That’s the thing on backs, the thing that’s best is whatever works on that one person.

Dasnake
When I wuz younger I tried the sleeping on the floor idea, I even tried sleeping on the front lawn, then I tried sleeping behind the steering wheel, nothing ever worked, so I figured the bed wuz the best place to sleep, mother agreed with me also.
Diesel Doctor
Today's question? Why do doctors offices seem to need page after page of forms filled out by us old people on Medicare. I had to do 18 pages one day, then a month later at the same doctor, another 18 pages. I am ready to charge the doctors $50.00 for my information. I am a busy man and don't have the time for nonsense. Another government entity intruding into our lives.
Binderoid
For future reference, use one of those light duty straps with the hooks on the ends / pull -to-tighten buckles. Then you can put the handle wherever you want it, rig it for two people, or length wise if by yourself, so you can pick it up and skid it like a log.

I totally agree with you, but then again, I believe it's a way for them to get your mind off the fact you have a 10 o'clock appointment and you don't see the doctor till 10:30. Busy work as you sit there. That's where I would like to charge them for wasting my time 😂 Mark
DaveinSD
I used to move furniture for a living years ago. The best way to move mattresses is to use a strap underneath. Works better than handles, and you don’t have to worry about ripping the handles off. I personally used an old style piano strap, 2” wide but softer than most straps, so more comfortable to wrap around the wrist.
