found ihc td24 in northern BC.

Nice score might have been used on Alcoa project with transmission lines? See older Komatsu D85? and lots of yellow pieces, nice lineup and country, looks like brushing still taking place yet, sold a TD24 to guy north of you by Warburg almost 20 years ago

There was another guy from Rimbey that had TD25's and I think a TD18 181 series and maybe more years and years ago think the handle was something bound? You know him? He was pretty interesting then I think someone criticized him for repairing his own UC and he was gone.

Do I see a couple of side booms in the background?

Maybe not, no counter weights.

This isn't your 14 you are inquiring about but an old Oliver that was used in mining peat moss for floatation, yours might be purpose built? IIRC the Antarctica D8's had some really wide pads also, do the pads bolt on in the center or are inset? Something that wide might require a special final housing extension if the pad bolts are centered

Weren't those winches also used for yarders? I couldn't close the deal on a D4 cat with a 3 drum winch that had formerly been owned by Great Northern paper here in Maine quite a few years ago. I didn't know anything like that had been used here.

Yup I think some refer to them as a yarder winch, there was an old video that showed using one on a 24 to string the high voltage cables and I thought this might have been it but wasn't, there was a brief pic of a yarder winch on the river dragline but that was all I could see, very heavy TD24 subject matter though, IH must have loved the sales some of these projects generated

That looks like a set up for a yarder. The one on the D4 was similar and sized to fit a D4 so much smaller than that one. I've seen videos of a D6 flying on a logging hi line on the West coast . I think US but could have been in Canada.
