Unusual Autocar

In 1951 that must have been the hottest thing on the road.

Thanks for posting that truck.  Very classy for its day.

I frequently see an early-'90s Autocar dump truck (one of the last) still hauling stone in my area.  It is painted medium-brown with a tan accent...kind of ugly, but definitely distinctive these days.  I don't know much about it other than the owner operator has to be over 70 years old by now.  It makes me smile whenever I see it.

A 90's Autocar is a Volvo with Autocar badges.

Love Autocars. Great heavy trucks. I almost bought a DC dump truck about 20 years ago down in PA but ended up coming home with a Mack instead. The Autocar was pretty rough. Still might own one someday.

Those integral sleeper Autocars are a rare bird. Was king of the road when it was new.

I used to see a Autocar tractor hauling flat bed loads to the Electric Boat ship yard

The place I work moved on to a old Navy Base that the Electric Boat ship yard is located at in 2006

I would see that truck once twice a week till about 2016

Looked similar to this one only blue

Sweet old truck still getting it done I assume the guy retired

No specs and it appears that truck is down under judging by the license plate and phone number on the door

One of the sanders I drove as a kid was  a late '50s Autocar. 5+2 aux. t probably was a road tractor at one time. It only had to work in the winter.

I hauled a lot of water in the oilfield in the late 80’s with a mid 70’s Autocar. Had the butterfly hoods and steel tread plate front fenders. I think it had a 350 cummins and a 5&3.  Tough old truck.

I drove an Autocar mixer with big flat head six gas White engine and a 5 and 3. had a Dodge flat six for the mixer. Very tough truck. Wasn't all that slow but you had to drive it. Was a 1953 if I remember correctly.
