John Rowehl
826 project. Scuffed up the first coat of paint with scotchbrite . Started to put on the second coat. Work was put on hold earlier in the summer. Son-in-law went out west to help with the forest/brush fires. Had the grandsons down for a couple weeks. Don’t get much of anything else done. You know how it is. Tractor will wait. Time with those boys is irreplaceable. (Plus, painting is not my favorite job)
MT Matt
Dug some taters with the A. My step-brother drove the tractor while I manned the potato digger. The russets did about what they usually do but the purple skinned variety was about half of what I normally get. Oh well, you get what you get some years. Its more then I need and I have a full row of Yukon golds as well as part of a row of reds to dig up tomorrow. I have plenty. 🤠
MacAR
I finished plumbing the hydraulic outlets on the 340 today, pain that it was, and then got Ghengis Cub (the wife named it that 🤣) out to remove the rear cultivators. Battery was dead, but the old boy started on the second pull of the crank. Decided since it was out that we'd take a little joy ride after the cultivators came off. Went ahead and put the drawbar on in preparation for it staying hooked to the wood splitter for the winter. Need to go ahead and remove the front cults and put the snow blade on, on the off chance it snows this winter. Forgot to snap any pictures, too busy throwing wrenches I guess! ChaseIH
Had a fun filled weekend of plow day and tractor pulling over the weekend. Gramps took the 806, dad on his 826 and me on the 1466 with the refreshments. After 7 hours plowing we headed home and loaded the 826 and headed to the local pull to pull in the 12,500lb class. There was only me and a 1566 in the class but he only got me by 30 feet! Sounds like a lot but comparing the two in the same class I thought I did respectable. Sunday we headed back over to the plow day and plowed all day Sunday to round out the weekend.

I also have an old Massey Harris hay rake restored 14 years ago in the shed and full of dust. It will be cleaned soon.
MacAR
I moved mine around so I could fit this one in the shop: 1941 H by the serial number. Changed oil and filter housing to fit the shorter filter like the 300 uses. New plugs, filed the points, adjusted the carb, replaced the sediment bowl with the correct one, and removed a lot of junk the previous owner had cobbled on. Also made the alternator fit under the hood. Over all a lot of work today, and more yet to do. Still need a starter button (been hand cranking it) and a battery box to replace the cobble job that's on it. Should be able to get everything done this week, then it's back on the corn picker. Rusty_Farmer
Pulled out a loaded straw wagon with the 560 to restock the straw shed. Cut more corn stalk bundles for re stocking the corn crib with the BM. Pulled a wagon with the Super A to pick up the stalks. Too wet to finish picking stones with the 6788, tomorrow , maybe?
DT Fan
Hauled two loads of corn to tow with the 856 and one with the 1066. Grain truck is currently down, waiting on parts. Napa had one thermostat and did have the gasket, however, it takes two stats! Supposed to be here tomorrow.

MacAR
Finished the H, all but the battery box and mounted the 101 picker I bought a couple months ago on it. By myself, I might add, and it kicked my @$$. Now just have a few minor things to do on the picker and hopefully will be picking corn next weekend. I pulled it up by the shop so I could work on it easier, it's been down by the lower barn. Got tired of driving back and forth every time I need something! My little brother is coming down to help, so we ought to have it going pretty soon. I rode a few times in the gravity box while he opened the field up for my uncle. My uncle only had a pull type picker at the time if I remember right.
MacAR
12 minutes ago, MT Matt said: That’s a pretty cool picker! Thanks! I can assure you its the only corn picker in Izard County Arkansas, because I had to travel 2 hours one way just to get it. The 101 is a semi mounted picker, and I modified this one so that it would work on a 3 point hitch rather than the hoop drawbar. I've had it running a couple times just to make sure everything is still good, but I've not got to pick any corn with it yet. The plan is to hook a little two wheel trailer behind it and try it out on Saturday. Mac
MT Matt
What did I do with my new to me red tractor today? I fetched it home! Online auction bidding is too easy with my phone… I borrowed a gooseneck trailer from a friend and headed two hours north to the edge of Kalispell. They said it ran and moved so I hoped they were right. Well, the owner only moved it a few feet. The float was stuck, a couple taps and a battery jump, she popped to life and sounded great! The tires were all pretty low but worked to load. The hydraulics had just enough to lift the disk to the trailer deck but that was it. Must be low. I’ll need to replace a front tire but the rest are good. I mainly wanted the disk but the tractor was so cheap I had to buy that too. I got the fast hitch drawbar and two additional points also. I was surprised to see the hook still there to lift the hitch latches! I didn’t have time to go over the tractor yet but I don’t think it had been used much. The pedals are in perfect shape with no side slop. I didn’t look at how many hours are on the tach. The TA appears to work without slipping in 4th gear with brakes applied. The disk hasn’t been used much either. The only thing I was hoping for was power steering, no luck. A little stiff to steer with what I think is a Du-al loader. But I think I can deal with that. I think I made a good addition to the farm.

Plenty to mow yet.

MacAR
Not very darn much yesterday or today. Picked about 20 rows of corn, everything was going well until the husker drive gearbox swarmed. Spent 6 hours today after church taking everything apart, putting a new roll pin in the bevel gear shaft, and putting it all back together. I'm pretty well beat tonight, but hopefully me and the old H will be picking in the morning. Mac
MT Matt
My favorite job, plowing with the Super MTA and the Case 4 bottom. I needed to take a load of square bales out of the shed in the background so I loaded the plow on the trailer as I was going that way. And since I was there, I might was well see how the new shares would pull. The ground is fairly sandy and just a little dry but plowed fine. Flipped over about 8 acres of oat stubble in 3rd gear. Everything shined right up. I have about 10 acres of old hay ground to break up next on this same field. I just got into it on my last couple of passes and had to drop down to second gear. The ground has decent moisture from irrigation but hasn’t been plowed in 30 years or better. We will see how it goes tomorrow.
