B farmall valve stem seals

Reworking the head on my dad's long lost b farmall, no valve stem seals ? Can someone educate me.

They don't have valve stem seals none of the old letter or hundred series had them. Some guys will have the guides cut to install seals on them to prevent just a little puff of oil smoke when the tractors start. Honestly it doesn't hurt anything, and you know your valves and stems are being lubricated.

I tried putting them on my H.

There was no lubrication and the valves started to seize to the point of losing cylinders. 

I removed them and all my problems were over.

If your guides are really sloppy, new ones can be pressed in easily.
