TN Hillbilly
Was taking advantage of the nice weather yesterday to move some stuff around and do some wintertime cleanup of sheds. The mighty C is the trailer and equipment spotter of choice. Had it hooked to the baler and thought of y'all. Will it pull it? I actually HAVE used the C to run this baler when we do some rebaling (in winter). That application is stationary and the C is perfect. In thr field...I might try it so time just to see if I could, but I wouldn't want anything hooked behind the baler, or very thick hay. For real baling, I usually use the 706. Should have taken you another picture after I took the leaf blower to it...looked like a dust storm had rolled in. Anyway the baler is now backed in the shop, I'm going to rebuild the pickup. Did the plunger last winter. Good ol baler. Probably working on its second (or third?) million bales now.
jass1660
Should pull it around the yard just fine.
Lazy WP
My trailer spotter. It would move the cart, empty, but I sure would not want to try to use it in the field. Nice part about the 830 is it’s a Caseomatic. No clutch to slip, and the steering is amazing, especially with that much weight on the drawbar. 1
db1486
Should be fine. I remember dad used the 560 to move equipment around the yard one fall. When he hooked it to the 1482 the front tires never touched the ground till he stopped lol
TractormanMike.mb
I would think in light hay it would work ok but as you said in heavy hay it might lug it down too much. It would depend on how finicky the knotters are when the baler is running at different speeds if the C can't hold the rpms steady. Some balers are funny like that, my dad had one that HAD to be running at pto speed or it just wouldn't tie right. I remember him watching it and actually counting plunger strokes when he got it up to speed before he fed hay into it.
bcsmta
I pulled a NH 66 baler in 1973 & 1974 to bale 20 acres of hay and 20 acres of oat each year if we stacked the wagons over 4 high it would run out of power also split the pto couple where it internally hooks up grinding feed with ih 1250 mill it was to big a load. Still have it .
acem
If you can go slow enough it will work in light windrows. The 706 would be a better choice.
