caseih2388
I bought a 856 a little while back with a boom loader for loading equipment. I remember one of the local Deere dealers having one on a 3010. Does anyone know what company produced these loaders

Paystar5000
I believe Herr and Leaman in New Providence, PA has one just like that on an 856? It has some serious front axle modifications if I recall correctly. I think it has a front axle out of a truck.

I kind of think there's at least a 3rd one in this area but I can think where right now.
acem
My nh/cih dealer has something similar on a 560 with a big truck front axle.

Matt Kirsch
I remember seeing one around Rodman Lott Farms in Seneca Falls NY when they had the Empire Farm Days there. It was by the loading dock so I can only figure they were using it to load and unload the display equipment.

It was owned by Finger Lakes Tractor who had it from the time they sold IH in Penn Yan, NY through when they sold New Holland in Waterloo, NY. I don't see it over to that store anymore but the Von Hammand family sold their interest in Empire Tractor a couple years ago so maybe they kept it for themselves. I'm told that there is a big money investor which has a majority interest in Empire Tractor.
R190
K&M built some in Minnesota years ago a few auction yards had them . I believe somebody out east biult one with a similar design also. If i remember correctly the uprights for the K&M one were behind the rear axle and the cylinder was straighter up and down and they had a lot of lifting power. Is this the same K&M that is still in business today in MN making tractor seats and interior kits?

ray54
Similar devices here, but on crawler tractors. I always thought they had a military origine from WW2. The IH dealer had TD 9 or maybe a T 9. The one tractor dismantler from 100 plus miles away would park things on a local farm over here to haul full loads into the yard. They had TD 18 that was more like a Case, Nomorejohndeere posted a day or 2 ago in his thread handy. As I recall a counter weight way up high that swiveled with the boom. Everyone over wondered if the old 18 even ran, it sat for years. But there where more around. Maybe a steel tank building company was the other one I saw regularly back in the old days. brahamfireman
Still kicking myself for not buying that 856 gas last year. Local jockey has one on a 560, never looked to see who made it. but it's scary what you can load and that cute little narrow front takes it. nate
Consignment auction that used to be south of us a hour away had 2 when I was younger. 560 gassers loaded with weights and ballast box on the rear. Pto driven hydraulic pumps. Both narrow fronts. The wide fronts would not hold up.
Rusty_Farmer
The dealership where I worked had a early 656 hydro. gas. They sold it when forklifts became the norm.

I have one on a 706 gas running off the factory hydraulic pump that lifts very well. I’ve lifted 7000 lbs with it and had no issues. I’ve tried heavier and it has the hydraulic power but not enough weight in the back and that’s with tires full of fluid, 2 sets of wheel weights on each side and a big cast weight block on the drawbar. Back in the day almost every machinery dealer around here had a Swartz boom on a tractor.
