iowaboy1965
Found this old post on another board doing a Google search. service manual shows both ends of the cutterbar being removed with floor jacks but I don't think it's necessary for your case: (1st photo) 2nd photo: Park the machine on a concrete floor, raise the header and lock it in the up position. Loosen (don't remove) the four bolts that attach the right hand (non powered) angle support for the cutterbar tower to the frome. 3rd photo: Pump up a rolling floor jack underneath the left end of the cutterbar (the driven end), and remove 2 horizontal bolts "A" and 6 vertical bolts "B". 4th photo: Slowly lower the jack until left end drive tower clears the 6 splined drive shaft from the bevel gearbox. There might be other panels or things attached (the pan between bar and rollers) that must be removed or unfastened to move the cutterbar. The loosened bolts on the right side permit it to tilt down a bit. Roll the jack forwards, pivoting on the right. 5th photo: The drive couplings for the cutterbar are now accessible. Jam a 2x4 between discs, and remove the flexible coupling by undoing three bolts "A". The six-holed flexible coupling "C" ( #48 on the exploded diagram), does not have a seperate part number listed in the book. It appears that it is replaced by a different part (# 59) that has a splined drive, so also replacing the top star drive "B" as a single part.

MT Matt
I did a little work on a plow today also. I found a set of shares for this 4-14 Case model C(?). Not sure of the model but it pulls nice behind my Super MTA. They were a little wore out, got my money’s worth out of this $200 plow. I was fortunate that the local shop had them sitting on the shelf. He didn’t know they were there. We looked in the book and made some calls but couldn’t find the right shares. Resigned to finding something close and trying to make it work. While digging, we unearthed the right ones. What’s the chance of that happening? The hub on the tail wheel was broken and my machinist buddy welding a new axle on for me. Didn’t want to scrap the plow and it will be good to go for the rest of my life now. Have about 15 acres to plow this fall yet of old hay ground. Also repainted a set of weights. These will go on my A.
Sledgehammer
I’ve been back to working on the “attack shack”. It got two more windows, shelves, a detachable landing, old paint stripped, roof coated, primed, painted, camo covered. Should be about ready to place on a platform and put in the woods. 10

nepoweshiekfarmalls
Finally hauled my 1972 1110 home this week. Lubricated the hood hinges, latch and carburetor linkage. Checked all fluids. Looked good. Removed spark plugs. Looked good. None were fouled. Squirted a little oil in each cylinder. Turned over the 304 with a 15/16 and a ratchet. Next step: check for spark and attach a temporary fuel system. If the starter turns it over, it may run!

MT Matt
Tire day today. Had a tire for the baler I needed to replace on the shop floor and two tires for the front of the W-6. I didn’t like how the 5.50 tires looked so I put 6.50-16s on. That looks right and they should carry better. I’m glad I did it because both sides had clamps that I didn’t realize were loose. Replaced the steering wheel also. The old one didn’t want to come off. So it got cut off and the hub sliced into three pieces. That’s better, the new one is much thicker so should be easier to grip. I also acquired a couple things today. Dang online auctions make it too easy to spend money. Bought the pair sight unseen but for $950, I should be alright! So I have a two hour road trip to take tomorrow. I’ll post more when I get them home…
DT Fan
Nice update Matt. Changed a steering wheel on a WD 45 once, it was stuck pretty good but apparently not as good as yours! Just heated mine with the torch and a 3-leg puller got it off the shaft. Nice find on that disc.

Just heated mine with the torch and a 3-leg puller got it off the shaft. Nice find on that disc. Cutting it with a skinny wheel seemed quicker and I wasn’t trying to save it so “off with its head!” What can you tell me about the disk? Dad never had any fast hitch implements. I’ve seen a few around here but not many. Now I suppose I’ll have to hunt for those!
DT Fan
Matt, I don't have much Intel for you on the disc, all I know is you don't see many of them! If it were an AC, snap-coupler I could help some. One thing, a small mounted disc is very handy.

Sledgehammer
Worked until 6, in bed at 7, up about 10:45. Off to the lumberyard for tower building material to go under the “attack shack”. It’s ready for legs and cross braces.

Sledgehammer
More platform work today. Added a few more braces first thing. Checked the final resting place and cleared a few saplings with a chainsaw. Used the skid loader to level the location. added legs to the platform. moved the platform with the skid loader. set in place and ground anchors buried to hold it down once I set the shack on top. Hopefully it will be put together on Saturday. the bottom of the 2x8s are about 6’3” off the ground. That should put the bottom of the windows at 11-12’ off the ground. I never intended to make it very tall. Primary goal is a foul weather location for firearm or archery hunting. Also a good place to take a kid that can’t sit still or that might get cold otherwise.
IHandJDman
I wasn't the one doing the work but this is what was being worked on. A major redo of parts in my 2144. Transition cone liner, all new vanes, new rasp bars. All new bearings all over, shaker bushings, elevator chain, vertical unload auger. Now has a rock trap. Still not done but it's ready for this year.
Gearclash
One of my round balers had a significant portion of the net wrap system break off and go through the baler. Gotta dig a little to get the offending part out. Replacement part got shipped to the wrong dealer 😡😡.
