nomorejohndeere
My Granny and Papa were involved with the local Shriners club etc. This was before internet and all the change in social interactions. A small town deal with lots of goofy traditions to make fun of but this was their social outlet and sense of pride. They raised money for childrens hospitals and helped each other out. As a kiddo I would often go with them to their meetings. I payed no attention to their proceedings and ceremonies. When they were done with the formal stuff the fellas went outside to smoke while the ladies warmed up all the homemade dishes to feast on. Fresh from their gardens, canned from their cellars, and hot from their ovens. Every homemade pie, cobbler or cake was somebodies specialty. There is not a restaurant that can compare.
1256pickett
Lincoln and main in Urbana ohio. Found it after red power roundup. Very small parking lot but good food on the cheap side. Kind of a sports bar meets 50s dinner is what I’d call it.
