Of the three 2+2's that I have two of them are just singles. One with 23.1x30 bias ply the other with 18.4Rx38. The 23.1x30 even though on the 3388 will out pull the 3588 with the radials. Just not enough tire on the ground with the 18.4's. Neither tractor is loaded with fluid. Thinking I will put duals on the back of the 3588 in the future. I pull a 13 shank model 55 chisel plow. If I recall correctly it would have been Low 3 direct with the 3388. I have not tried it behind the 3588 so not sure what it would do.

Everyone's ground and situations are different, but why chisel that is some nice winter cover!

Plant right into it this spring and save the fuel.

Nice to see guys doing covers and feeding cattle, do you allow any winter grazing?

The radishes are awesome compaction tools, but 🦨 pretty bad when warms up.

Do you have any issues in the spring with the oats roots and getting a smooth seed bed?

As you mentioned the tillage radishes definately have an odor when they decompose.  But they do a great job of breaking up compaction.  I had a farmer tell me he baked them and put butter on them and they were really good.  Never tried that myself though.

Makes perfect sense to me.  Most wheat close to me gets doubled cropped with beans afterwards.  One guy i know well lets it fallow after wheat.  Profit on beans after wheat can be sketchy some years with our growing season.  It comes down to late summer rains and when first freeze comes. I understand being organic you don't want a bunch of weeds growing after the wheat comes off.

could you use tillage radishes in the garden?  planting and leaving them for the entire winter?

I’ve done that a few times. They do loosen up the soil and the big leaves shade out any fall weed growth. They’ll survive some mild frosts, the first night into the teens will kill most of them. The leaves decompose quickly and the radish is gone by spring, just a hole left in the ground.

What is with the discbine?  Is that a homemade hitch?  That would be handy in my small fields.  I hate running down crop.
