Look at any of the roughly '06-10 DCX stuff.  TERRIBLE interiors.  Minimal investment.  Truly a disappointment to what those products could have been. 

A friend and colleague bought one for his kids to learn on a manual. It's got some QC issues but was relatively cheap and accomplished the task. He's been trying to find the Bronco of his youth but prices for one not rotted to the window sills are just crazy.

Broncos never did it for me. I have a soft spot for the full size, but that soft spot may be in my skull 🤔

This one was on the CG Academy campus a few years back. It had a logo from a specialty restoration shop that I failed to capture but my buddy knew of them and it was big bucks. It was the nicest one I've ever seen.

Was a semi local guy round here that had a pretty nice looking 1st gen Bronco for years. He claimed the only way to go was a fiberglass body/tub on an early bronco. I suppose it may be similar for some age and styles of jeeps? Early Broncos were bad about rusting out the door pillars amongst other places. If I won the lottery I would have another. Ne is right prices are outa sight on them now.

I'm not saying they are better but I have never seen anything perform better than the old style Toyota Landcruisers in this, the diesel was extremely economical to operate, I hear the Nissan Patrols were equal or better but they must not have been sold here and are extremely rare, Oz or SA maybe able to comment on their performance

I like my Jap Jeep. I4, no air, intermittent wipers, cruise, electric windows, power steering. Not much to go wrong. Cheap to buy and maintain. On a truck frame. Not big enough for fat chicks, but plenty room for dogs and beer. I understand it when I lift the hood. Think I will get another and put tracks on it for when I quit sledding. 93 Tracker.

I used to have 1 of them up on the ranch. My dog took out the windshield, twice. Anytime anyone would start hollering oowieeee, Squeek would brace himself between the seats.

Also Suzuki Samari passed Jeep for the highest achieved elevation achieved by a vehicle on a Chilean volcano and tore down their Jeep sign, the Tracker was the Detroit Samari

The tracker is a brother to the sidekick. Samurai is the little guy, more capable, less durable when it comes to off roading. Sidekick and tracker are built on LT frames.

But with those diesels "accelerate" was a word to be drawled out long and slow.

A friend got issued one.  A couple of his comments -

"It is the sort of vehicle that, when you leave town of a morning, you have to floor it to get the headwind correction for the day"

"You know, to pass someone doing 95 km/h, you need a very long straight and a fair bit of courage".

We got Nissan Patrols here in Oz but they never really shook the Landcruiser market.  A couple of friends did all right with them for a long time.  But I think they've given up on the pick-up version here.

I am not an expert on Sideflips and their cousins but what I know is GM and Suzuki had a joint manufacturing facility in Ingersoll 20 minutes from here- CAMI. They built those little guys ( GMs and Suzukis )there  not sure if Detroit built them . I know a few guys who had them and really liked them

Suzuki walked away from CAMI in 2009 and turned it over to GM. It is being refitted to produce EV delivery vans

 Suzuki was a pretty good value brand in my opinion

Since they stopped importing them parts are much harder to come by even in the aftermarket, while they were active in North America the parts support from the dealer was great and usually reasonably priced, there was a good local dealer here too back when 

Samurais and Sidekicks are different animals, Samurai has 2 solid axles and Sidekicks have a solid rear and an independent front suspension 

Samurais are so small and light, with 31-35 inch tires can go to places that might challenge a new wild side by side, they don’t have much power going steep uphill with four guys, (1000 pounds) even in low range, but it had two surprise passengers from the stuck Jeep XJ

Sidekicks are great cheap off road buggies, there was a few years in the 2000s and a few in the early 2010s that they were plentiful around here for a couple hundred bucks, and they ran all over the trails, sometimes be more Trackers and Sidekicks than ATVs on a tour, a guy could jack up a half ton with 33s or 35s and get stuck where a Sidekick with 2057515 snow tires walks through, loaded statement, not always that way but they were almost always that good, a great beater for sure

Everyone in the family has a jeep, my gurl is in the process of ordering/buying/waiting for a '23 bronc, if I wasn't so old I would dump my jk and go for a new ride, but at my age nada, their price ain't bad, 54 booked in 8 months ago or so and trade their rubi in at a decent price.

And, to put it bluntly, Jeep hasn't had more than a murmur of a presence in our market for years.  And the current ones have won a few "lemons".

About the 1960's our state boasted a Jeep assembly plant, so most government 4x4 had to be them.  One department eventually had enough, lined up the specs for Jeep, Land Rover, Landcruiser and Patrol.  Anything the others had that Jeep didn't was required and v/v.  Took a while to get through government heads though.

And Scouts didn't put much of a blip on the market either.

I have been looking for a set of them, or better yet stickers for my ‘15 JK Willy’s. 
Haven’t had time to write my Jeep story, but it involves. ‘70 CJ5 with the Dauntless 225 V6.

Will be interesting to see if the frame is as a nice as it looks in the photo.

4 Liter with a 5 speed. Bit of rust showing below the doors, but I’ve seen many with patch panels in that area.

I have looked at a number of 2000 through 2005 in Nebraska and Kansas and have seen almost no rust. They are a couple thousand bucks higher than that one.

It was too good to be true. 🙁 Frame had been cut out and replaced in a few areas and hadn’t been put through a state inspection since the work was done. Other than that it appeared to be in great shape and drove well. Too far away to bring up to my mechanic to look at….  Would have been nice if they included that info in the add. Guess I should have asked before I made the drive.

That's the problem with older rust belt stuff its likely been repaired 

I saw a CJ-7 at a friends house one of his co-workers 

Made his own frame out of stainless did an excellent job 

It was four linked front and rear with a Chevy 350 on propane

Well there won’t be any Jeep showing up at our house in the near future. Dually started growling and the conciseness is its going to take a rearend. Only about $6500! Need something to haul some critters to the packing plant in the meantime, so a 2009 Chebby 3/4 ton is showing up under the Christmas tree instead. 1/2ton Ford is leaving.
