ih886/1066 Posted November 17, 2022 Share Posted November 17, 2022 baled hay with our 350 in 60's & 70's with nh 273 with chute. 10,000 bales a year when we milked cows. fast hitch made hook ups easy. ta. thought it was Cadillac of tractors. now 886 with a/c,am fm with nh 570 with kicker. seven hay wagons. can bale 1,000 bales by myself but still have to unload. nice video. i always wanted to try one of those kickers. look easier on the bales 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Lars (midessa) Posted November 17, 2022 Share Posted November 17, 2022 We usually used a 656 gas on the baler, and kicker wagon, not for the hp, for the rolling hills on some of the farms we worked. We had one co-worker if he baled, he insisted on using one of the 826’s, he would shift up 1 gear faster, but cut way back on the rpm’s for the pto, he claimed it ‘saved the leaves on the alfalfa. He would have throttle may be 1400-1500 rpm, every stroke of the baler plunger, the tach would drop over 300 rpm in heavy windows.
