350 diesel
Hi everyone, I posted last year about buying a stuck TD-9. Well got it home and the engine unstuck, I've started disassembly of the engine to rebuild it. I wasn't worried till I took #1 main cap off and discovered the bearing was worn to the copper with some deep scratches. Then I discovered it was already turned 0.060 under. Does anyone know where a good place to get a crank near Michigan would be? Or can I turn this one and get bearings yet? This engine was originally a D335 with the bigger rod bearings, rod bearings dia 3.625 and mains are 4.125. thanks in advance

nomorejohndeere
A qualified shop could or should be able to weld it up then turn the journal down..............
DoubleJFarmsWA
I have a crank, but it has a slight bend and would need to be straightened and then turned down, as #2 journal is bad. finding parts for my td9, is kinda like finding unicorns. But hoping to get back to working on it.
td9bcf180
Carrs are located on the Canadian side of the border in Northern Minnesota I think. Barwick, Ontario. You could try them. Hope to get back at it next spring. Looks quite sad, these days.
ChaseIH
I have a TD9 that I’m taking the final drive housings off of to fix ours. The motor is stuck but exhaust has always been covered and it was inside so shouldn’t be to bad to free up. I’m also in Michigan
